No climbs on today's route means that we should finally see a 'normal' mass sprint finish. This could be the first chance to actually see Brown doing something in this race
The escapes were caught with more than 30 kilometers left to ride and the stage headed to the expected mass sprint, but again no one was able to pull out a decent train
Brown followed a train led by Eisel, with Thomas and Renshaw also being in the Austrian's slipstream. It was strange to see the 2 Columbia - HTC riders there without Cavendish, who was following other wheels
With the final kilometer it seemed that Brown has chosen the right train to follow, but as while Eisel was heading to the lead of the pack with Thomas in his wheel, Brown was stuck behind with Renshaw
After the last corner, Eisel had a quite comfortable lead and with the strongest sprinters far behind it looked like the HTC domestique was heading to an unexpected win
And Eisel takes it! Boonen took the second place, while Boasson Hagen rounded up the podium. Brown finished sixth in the end
Today we saw the final mass sprint of the race but again the winner has a surprising one, with the top sprinters still missing a stage win here, while Cardoso is still enjoying his lead thanks to a great ride in the second stage

Yes, but is when the image is closer to the rider, they have a bright that is unreal.
For example the second screenshot on this page too.
But i like your story a lot, with or without the HDR , and i liked the 09 sky story too

Ok Alex I tried to do what you did and save the replay and then load it in much higher graphics but when I did none of the cyclists showed up. I'm thinking it was because my graphics were too high to handle but I just would like to know if this problem happened to you at all? Thanks. |

It happened once for me too. But when I loaded the replay with a little lower graphic settings it worked.

Ok my game thought that 0's on everything was the best setup of my gfx for the game when it easily played 2's on everything before. Weird. but I just hit the force gfx options and its fine. Also at first the problem was that my gfx were too high but then it was I was using the wrong db.
Anyway got it fixed, but thanks for this awesome strategy. |

The queen stage is here, where everything should be decided. The stage winner should be the favorite to take the leaders jersey at the end of the day even though Cardoso and Lorenzetto have an important advantage over the rest thanks to the second stage
Kai Reus was in a breakaway for the second time in this race and after a great ride on the first 2 climbs of the day he took the lead in the KoM competition
The Dutch rider did almost the whole work in the first half and his effort brought an advantage of more than 6 minutes for the escapes in front of the escapes
But as the other riders didn't work too much, Reus also stopped working and they were eventually caught with more than 30 kilometers before the finish line
As the pack was heading to the final climb of the day, where everything was going to be decided only 55 riders were left in the front group. Three Rabobank riders were still there: Martens, Tjallingii and Weening
As soon as the final climb was reached, Martens and Hesjedal made the first moves from the favorites
The German didn't have a great day and he wasn't able to match the acceleration of the Garmin rider. Only 2 riders were actually strong enough to go after him, Grivko and Geslin
But they weren't able to catch him and the Canadian was heading to the stage win with less than 1 kilometer to go, while the other 2 spots on the podium were also taken
Hesjedal takes Garmin's first season of the season in the queen stage of Santos Tour Down Under. Behind him, Grivko and Geslin came after 11 seconds
Martens led the pack, or at least what was left from it, more than half a minute behind the winner
Cardoso was also in Martens group and he keeps the race lead for only 1 seconds in front of Hesjedal and it looks like the Portuguese rider has won this edition of the Aussie race
Stage
1. | Ryder Hesjedal | Garmin - Transitions | 6h20'04 | 2. | Andriy Grivko | Astana | + 11 | 3. | Anthony Geslin | Française des Jeux | s.t. | 4. | Paul Martens | Rabobank | + 33 | 5. | Juan José Cobo | Caisse d'Epargne | s.t. | 6. | Simon Clarke | ISD - Neri | s.t. | 7. | Mirco Lorenzetto | Lampre - Farnese Vini | s.t. | 8. | Manuel Cardoso | Footon - Servetto | s.t. | 9. | Tom Boonen | Quick·Step | s.t. | 10. | José Iván Gutiérrez | Caisse d'Epargne | s.t. | 11. | Kevin De Weert | Quick·Step | s.t. | 12. | Edvald Boasson Hagen | Sky Professional Cycling Team | s.t. | 13. | Alessandro Bertolini | Androni Giocattoli - Serramenti PVC Diquigiovanni | + 57 | 14. | Russell Downing | Sky Professional Cycling Team | s.t. | 15. | Francesco Ginanni | Androni Giocattoli - Serramenti PVC Diquigiovanni | s.t. |
Overall

Seems like Martens just didn't quite have the early season form to make the strong moves. Congrats on top 10. |

Actually, Martens is the second best rider at the moment in terms of fitness points from Rabobank, behind Brown, Reus being third.
The thing is that he had -3 at the daily form.
But yeah a top 10 at a race that I don't like, because the early season form, is quite good.

Hesjedal won. I just wish you could have slowed the peloton down so that they came in 2 seconds slower than they did. |
