Hope for some GC fireworks tomorrow and maybe we will get some serious KOM scrapping too - Pirazzi versus Rabottini in a break? |

Probably this, and if the breakaway stays close at the end, I would expect some strong attacks by stage hunters like Di Luca. But I think the stage could easily go to the lucky breakaway.
Hoping for attacks from Hesjedal, Scarponi and Santambrogio tomorrow. |

Didn't mind at all that Garzelli or Di Luca to win tomorrow's stage. |

Also I notice there is a chance of showers/thunderstorm at the finish. If so what are the chances of Wiggins being put under pressure again on what is said to be a technical finale? |

Adding three other names to the list of those potentially interested in attacking: Betancur, Kiserlovski and Sánchez. Maybe also the man sharing my name, considering that Savio believes he's capable of finishing on the final podium.
All of them lost truckloads of time today and needs to start making it up if they want to enter the top 10 at the end of the race. Same goes for Pozzovivo, by the way.

Agree with Alak here, I can see Weening going for the win tomorrow.
If the attacks won't survive, it's time for a Gatto stage-win.

Good points. With each post the prospects of an aggressive stage are increasing in my mind \o/ |

Don't think enough has been said about the ride of Dowsett and Durbridge. I know for a fact that the course did no way in hell suit Durbridge, but to finish infront of Cadel shows what a fantastic ride it was.
The next couple of weeks are key for Sky. We have seen them ride defensively and whittle down the other contenders when they had the leaders jersey, now they have to come from behind. Wonder how they are going to play it. |

Fantastic ride by Evans. I think his form is coming back and I believe he will get himself to "his best"... He will be strong GC contender at TDF even though he has not said his last word here on giro! ) |

If Evans will do good in Giro, it's very unlikely he'll do well in the Tour
Gesink on a virtual podium of a Grand Tour. Nice. And Kelderman in the white jersey. It's looking pretty good for Blanco at the moment.

I think he came to the Giro because he knew that he wouldn't have a chance in the Tour, where the field will be stronger. He will be a greater helper for TVG that's for sure. |

Horrible rider for Hesjedal. sSad to see him out of GC contention so early.
Edit: What the hell happened to Phinney?

Yes, because Hesjedal is completely out of it now that he is way down in 6th place.
Phinney is recovering from a sickness.

I doubt he's going to beat Nibali being down 2 minutes on him already.

Less horrible for Hesjedal more fantastic for Nibali and very good for Gesink, Scarponi and Evans (not to mention Henao too for that matter!).
I'm sure he'll be a bit disappointed but roughly where you'd expect him to be (give half a minute or so) just that others exceeded expectation. Plus there is a looong way to go. |

I dont think ones GC hopes are over once 1st place seems unreachable. He could still finish with a Top 3 and theres still a slim hope he wins.

hesjedal 37:03 1:11:22 => 34:19
santambrogio 38:04 1:13:23 => 35:19
so basically Nibali's moral win is based on the technical 1st part. In the 2nd part he's pretty much same as all other contenders
where did you (or someone else) find the split times of such riders as Sanchez, Pozzovivo and Santambrogio? |
