Hah! Im so glad i did not go to imperial! I only pay 2.5 grand a year as a so called student contribution and the irish state covers me tuition (same for all EU students)...
Btw, jph, there is always the option to go to scotland and study there. Its the same system as in ireland (no tuition fees)... Why all you guys want to stay in england is beyond me! I mean, whats so great about paying 10 grand [in €] just for tuiution alone every year, not considering the living costs...
You have to be Scottish for that to apply though, and for what I want to study (Motorsport Engineering) staying in England would probably be most beneficial in terms of finding work. |

Holy cow.
98€ registration fee per term for me, and living expenses are low enough for my parents to cover them.
Plus our library is big enough to never have to buy a single book.

Listen, I'm not saying that Oxford etc are bad universities.
I'm just saying you have to be careful in saying that money and quality go hand in hand. That's not necessarily so. There are intelligent guys everywhere, and there are dumbasses and frauds everywhere. That's just the way it is. |

Only Scottish and EU students pay low tution fees of ca. 2000 pounds, students form the rest of the UK have to pay 9000 (numbers from the University of Edinburgh).
I pay 500€ tution fees per semester, plus 500€ per year for public transport. Living in Munich is quite expensive, but all in all it´s cheaper than in most other countries, or at least not more expensive.
Next study year (from October 2013), tution fees may be disposed and a semester ticket is available. That would cut my costs to about 600€ instead of 1000€.

Do foreign students have to pay extra? If not, then seeing as I can already speak some German... |

You don´t have to pay extra, and for exaple in medicine, there´s a number of reserved places for foreign students. In most parts of Germany you only have to pay the registration fee mentioned by Cio, for me that´s 42€ (indepently from the 500€ tution fee).
Edit: No party will increase the tution fees. They all want to get the 5% needed to get into the parliament.

The tution fee here is 400kr, roughly £40. However, I accumulate roughly 70.000 kroner (ca. £7000) in debt each year thanks to the student loan. Wish I could do without it, but I gotta eat. I could get a job on the side, but I prefer to focus solely on my education.
The government says it wasn't nothing but fulltime students, but if you are unlucky when it comes to how much you pay in rent, you can't really survive on the student loan alone.

Wow, I'm amazed by those figures. Thanks to having not too rich parents (and of course not being too rich myself), I got state help. So, I paid something ridiculous like 15 € per year (3 years). One day, for some odd reason, I wasn't on the same level of social help, so I paid something around 90 € for that year.
That, plus the state gave me something like 1200 € on the three years when I had the max help, which helped paying the flat rent. I didn't have that money the year I paid 90 € for tuition fee.
I didn't have to buy any book past high school either.
There are good sides to a welfare state.
Now I have to pay for it through my taxes though, but I find it better this way. No student loan to pay back for. |

I thought it was the other way round at some Catholics, but I might have gotten that wrong. |

While that could most certainly be true, would you care to elaborate on this statement?

Paid £100 plus last academic year for sign language (level 1 BSL), more or less the same on a web design course.
This year for level 2 BSL I'm spending close to £300, and I spent another £300 on a freelance journalism course (studying from home).
If I pass level 2, then level 3 should follow and that will be £330 at least, then level 6 (that's the way it goes) if I pass level 3 and that will be over £400.
I do a bit of voluntary work for Action On Hearing Loss (unpaid obviously) and my boss (whom I also consider my guide) has encouraged me a lot to keep going despite the cost, I wouldn't say she's pushing me though, more it's like people think I can be useful |

Well it has created almost every war on earth. It made people go on long walks to Jerusalem and then slaughter people. It created a war that lasted thirty years between 1618 and 1648. It says that gay people shouldn't be allowed to get married just because they are of the same gender. You have to pay loads of money to a guy in a big castle in the middle of Rome which he later spends on food and wine. It scares us with "You will burn in hell" kinda stuff. The Catholic priests are molesting every child in the world. I can go on for ages but I don't want to bore you |

Luckly my parents can pay for everything. In Munich it´s impossible to get a room for less than 400€ per month (except for student dorms, but you have to wait at least half a year to get a place). I´m happy that i found a room, even though it takes about 35 minutes to get to the university, but i know a couple of students who still live in a hostel.
Whoever cannot cover his costs gets "Bafög" (short for Bundesausbildungsförderungsgesetz ) . It´s complicated, but i think the maximum you can get is about 700€ per month of which only the half has to be paid back and the maximum you have to pay back is 10000€.

Well, first of all, I was christianed Catholic and I ve gone 20 years without being malested, but thats just a side note.
Soo really all you are sying is, that Christian believes and especially Catholic Faith suck. I can agree with that. I personally think it is the biggest cult in the world, and countries that promote catholicism but oppose Cults are just hyppocrites...
Yet, your first argument was that religion sucks. But you just give reasons for Christian believes! Nowhere in your argumentation do you state one fact that justifies your basic argument for other wrld religions (such as Buddhism or Hinduism)...
Damned, Zabel'd againg.... Whats wrong with me these days?

I can't say anything about Islam because then everybody will throw eggs at me. I can't say anything about Buddhism because they say that "We are a religion of peace" . Hinduism can't be taken seriously with an elephant with four arms who rides on a rat. Protestantism is the same thing as catholism and it only leads to war and miserable. Mormon is basically a sex orgie. Jehovah's witnesses just want to get into your house
