I did it during most of the cycling season last year, but without serious training and racing this year i had a few beers now and then. I have a few straight-edge friends, but i doubt i could drug free my whole life. Beer just tastes too good and getting drunken is too funny (up to a certain point). I´ve never taken any other drug than alcohol, except passive smoking, though.
passive smoking?
Someone around you smokes and you inhale the toxic substances?
In Germany, you can rarely attend a football game or any other public event without enduring this.
That's why they have smoking sections?
@FCanc Crack is whack. Don't do drugs or smoke. No benfit.
You cant say that so easily. I know about one herb, that is so called drug, just because it is good for pharmaceutical and industrial lobbies, meanwhile it could have more health benefits than 90% of used pills and medicines according to many sophisticated studies and experiences, including easing the damages of the worst brain illnesess. The world is not black and white.
And the commercial is epic

I feel like watching more women's cycling
I'll be bitterly disappointed if it turns out the races aren't like this, though... |

Do you mind telling which herb and which brain illness you´re talking about?

Weed obviously.
An the benefic effects were experienced and documented with such the worst illnesess like disseminated sclerosis, parkinsons disease, neurogenic pain, movement disorder, asthmna, migraines. It also can have signifgicant effects for patients with AIDS, or going through chemotherapy, for example when they lack appetite for food. The things i mentioned are just a fraction of variety of possible use, for example ointments from marijuana plant are unmatched in fight with several diseases of skin and outer wounds (my grandma used it successfully for bad eczema).
Of course i speak about medical use, not about smoking 2grams per day, however smoking it is also not such a big nigtmare how media try to give such a bad impression to.
Thing is i dont like hypocrites and "blind" people, who are not doing any difference between heroin and weed f.e. You have a plant for your own use? You are a junkie in the eyes of law...nonsense if i might say.

You're right in a way. It's mostly not as bad as the world makes it. However, it's still bad for the intelligence (it screws with connections in the brain and kill brain cells). And smoking it is also bad for the lungs, especially if smoked with tobacco.
But I agree that a grown up (over 25 years) could use it for medicinal purpose, like you said AIDS and other illnesses. |

Weed can be used as medicine but most people use it as drug. And drug abuse is never good, no matter how great a medicine it could be. I am pretty sure that even people suffering from said illnesses abuse weed.
Another thing people like to forget is that weed has been altered genetically in the last 30 years. It is not "weed" any longer but high potential THC leaves.
It is strongly advised to stay away from it especially when you plan a sports career. I have seen some promising talents who folded their career shortly after starting to smoke it. |

I have a roommate who is a stoner, and you can always tell when he wakes up, because you can hear loud coughing coming from his room. I'm sure there are legitimate reasons to use weed, but I have yet to meet someone who uses for anything more noble than recreation. And I'm from a state where medical use is legal.

You're all partially right.
Weed was fine and did no damage to your system, and it was only outlawed due to the tobacco and cotton lobbies.
However, weed nowadays is very different, engineered to have massive amounts of THC and other crap. It's very bad for you (not as bad as tobacco, but still very bad)

Smoking always damages your body, no matter what you smoke. And I am pretty sure that most cultures who consumed weed in the old ages did smoke it. |

That awkward moment when there's a video about girls on a topic and SweatyViking doesn't come to comment about it. |

Getting high from THC is always unhealthy, as it getting drunk. Smoking weed is, too, because one inhales carcinogenes. The combination with tobacco is even worse than somking either weed or tobacco alone.
And especially for developing brains, THC is much worse than alcohol, for exaple it most likely lowers the IQ (even if you quit it lateron) and those who smoke weed in their youth become addicted to hard drugs more often.
I support THC as medical drug, though, as most studies show a positive effect for many illnesses (but definatly not for the "worst brain illness" ).
But the positive effects were only proven for people with serious illnesses, somking joints for relaxing surely isn´t one of them.

God. After years of nothing but drug busts in terms of crime around here, a shooting and a rape in 1 day. That's just the way life is. The worst part - the guy shot hids own son, who attacked him in a ski mask.

I am pretty sure that only overdoses of THC or alcohol are harmful to the body. And THC can be extracted from the weed without burning it.
But obviously a child in development should not take any drugs, that is why even alcohol and cigarettes are illegal for minors in most countries.

It is their mindset which makes them abuse drugs. Weed and alcohol are just the most accessible drugs for children. If other drugs are easily accessible, they will consume them without caring for that statistics. |

After one day in Poland, all I can say is Polish vodka is really good. That's all I can say because I can't remember anything else.
