After what I heard, Italy might drop from the 1st down to the 2nd seeded group after the 2-2 match against Armenia.
If that's the case, then on behalf of everyone and to all those who said the game didn't matter, allow me to say *ahem* HAHAHAHAHAHA.

To most fans it did come about a bit 'suddenly' 4 years ago when France were also in the Play Offs. I mean, with no prior warning and Platini being Platini, we are entitled to ponder...
Projected Pot 1 @ World Cup
Brazil (hosts)
Spain (1st)
Germany (2nd)
Argentina (3rd)
Colombia (4th)
Belgium (5th)
Uruguay (6th) - they will beat Jordan.... won't they...
Italy or Netherlands (tied 7th)...
Tomorrows FIFA Rankings will decide who will be in Pot 1.

Neither. Switzerland will take the last spot by 2 points. |

Yeah I'm happy, too. I think they needed that before the WC. People were getting cocky anyway (oh we're gonna win 4 - 0, oh it's a gala-match...) So it's a good thing they discovered they're not invincible at all
Must say Wales played a great game, there. At some points they were backed down pretty deep but at other times there was some real danger! |

Croatia - France
Romania - Portugal
Greece - Sweden
Iceland - Ukraine
Don't ask me how I know this, just got a strange feeling. |

Wasn`t there a rule that the 4 best 2nd places are qualified directly as well?
At least I heard something like this yesterday as teh commentator said, that Sweden needs one point against Germany to be safe.
Coming to the game yesterday...it`s a pleasure and a pain to watch German games. Offensively probably the best but defensively not that great. Not because of the defenders but it`s always the problem with a very offensive game style. I made this experience for many years as Werder Bremen supporter.
But I won`t care if Germany wins the World Cup with the most goals against of all teams. They just need to score more than the opponent, right?
But as the history and also the Confed Cup showed, European teams struggle in South American tournaments. So next to Germany and Spain I expect Brazil and Argentinia as strong contenders.
Behind those four teams like Italy, Netherlands and Belgium already! |

Seedings : FIFA job.
Platini's job : UEFA president.
Got it ?
Now I'm not saying it's never been fixed and that it won't be again, etc. but Platini has most likely nothing to do with that bit, since he's not involved, as far as I know. |

Wales played really steady throughout the game, but it really annoys me why they cannot play like that all the time though |

It's only matter of the time before the president of the Norwegian FA is publically beheaded. He and his 2nd in command fired the coach of the national team with two games to before his contract was up, they didn't tell the coaches boss about it and made sure to make the decision when they knew Semb ("boss" of the coach) wasn't in the country!
They even went ahead and delegaded several of Sembs responcibilities to a bunch of other people, basicly making him a man who's hired, but without any tasks.
Over two years, two vice-presidents have backed down from their position due to the way Yngve Halen is running things.
Several newspapers even wrote a eulogy over the "death" of norwegian football.

Those two goals in stoppage time put Mexico through to the playoff with New Zealand, which resulted in this response from Mexico...

Nice. Only I'd rather have Greece-Iceland and Romania-Croatia, but it's great as it is. My bet would be Portugal, France, Greece and Croatia going through (not really bold, I know ).

Zlatan vs. CR7 is the best you can get for playoff, my two favourite strikers. Rooting a bit more for Sweden though.

CR7, Nani and Moutinho will have some nice 180 minuets against the worst defenders in Europe (M. Olsson excluded). |

Does that mean Norway suddenly is excluded from Europe? Our current defence (and espescially GK) is equal to Faroes Islands level... |
