Good luck here in Colorado
Btw, is that snow on the first picture of the prologue?

Strangely enough, it sounded like rain and it looked like snow |

Tour of Colorado - Stage 3
Well, this is the queen stage of this Tour of Colorado. Today we had to make the difference. The two biggest obstacles of the day were the Cottonwood Pass and the Independence Pass.
Bille went to war for the KoM jersey and gets the maximum points on the Cottonwood Pass. He's already almost certain of the jersey and the stage race isn't even halfway yet!
It was up to Omega-Pharma Quickstep to chase down the breakaway.
Their pace was everything but fast and a peloton of over 90 riders survived the Independence Pass. I was badly positioned, otherwise I would've tried an attack.
So it looked like it would be up to the breakaway riders to fight for the win (Bille had already returned to the peloton on the final climb)
In the end, it was Camaño, the racer of Endura Racing, that takes the win! Stijn finished a nice 8th place.
However, for me this race was a bit of a disappointment. There were no attacks, no big breaks in the peloton. The only thing that'll stir up the GC is the Mountain Time Trial of tomorrow.

I still share my place/time with Van Garderen. Tomorrow we'll fight out our battle on the time trial hill, that promises to be good!
In other news: Sep Vanmarcke, upcoming Flandrien, has signed a contract with Argos - Shimano, which will most likely promote to ProTour at the end of the season. He'll be their main rider for the cobbled classics, which they'll have to ride now.
See you tomorrow! |

While we're nearing page 20, I just wanted to check: those people following, is there anything you'd like to see changed or is it still going well enough for you? (reports, screenshots, pace...) |

Thanks
I've added a palmares of both riders in the first (intro) post. I didn't want to make it too detailed, so I just did the GTs for Eric and important (cobbled) races for Stijn. I hope you all like it! |

soooo faaaast
i leave it for 12hours and 2pages fill up!!
i knwo you dont do stats, but could you give an idea of who they are similar to in terms of ability (cause for now im sure they are both the best riders ever and you just suck )?
Really good, maybe like a bit more information on the other riders in Lotto and how the team is doing away from these two.

I'll give a few hints about their abilities:
Stijn & Renshaw should be co-leaders when it comes to sprinter, neither is much better than the other.
Stijn has grown in COB a lot already and is now better than Roelandts, however he doesn't even come close to Boonen or Cancellara yet. He should be able to win a cobbled race next season, though, with a bit of luck.
And about Eric I'll just say this: He and Van Garderen have much in common
I'm not the best PCM player, but I don't think that's relevant here, I just want to make a great story. I don't think I suck, though
I'll try to give a little more info about Lotto!

Eric won't be racing the WC this year. Van Gent has been considered but because of the hilly profile, I think they'll give a priority to Gilbert and Van Avermaet and riders like that.

Tour of Colorado - Stage 4
Where the opening time trial was mostly downhill, this is mostly uphill. It should suit Eric better.
The first, flat part of the race was not so good. At the first checkpoint I had a 15 second deficit on Van Garderen.
Van Garderen rode excellent and rode past Bille.
But he had taken a fast start and faded a lot near the end, while I found my legs from the Giro, going uphill. I caught Bille (who started even before Van Garderen) on the finish line and squashed Van Garderen's time with 27"! And that's how you win your first stage race!
Camaña knew his days of glory were over, as he lost 2'04" today.
Result

Tour of Colorado - Stage 7
The next 3 days were just a matter of keeping the jersey. Them being all flat profiles, it wasn't that hard. Everyone worked hard, including myself!
Of course, there were some falls, but I was never part of them.
Antomarchi won the final stage and I won my first stage race, and what a beauty it is!

This was a huge success. This year is too good to be true, for the both of us! I think we can have a great future ahead of us, if we keep working hard!
However, this season is coming to an end, already. I merely have 2 races more to ride, the two in Canada, while Stijn will finish his season next week with GP Jes Scherens.
But we'll stay with you until the end of the seasons, with results from the team!
In other news:
Classique de Plouay:
1 | André Greipel | Lotto-Belisol | 5h19'10 | IanButler | 2 | Tom Boonen | Omega Pharma-Quick-Step Cycling Team | s.t. | | 3 | Tom Veelers | Team Argos-Shimano | s.t. | | 4 | Mark Cavendish | Sky Pro Cycling | s.t. | | 5 | Robbie McEwen | Orica-GreenEDGE | s.t. | | 6 | Thor Hushovd | BMC Racing Team | s.t. | | 7 | John Degenkolb | Team Argos-Shimano | s.t. | | 8 | Bernhard Eisel | Sky Pro Cycling | s.t. | | 9 | Daniel Oss | Liquigas-Cannondale | s.t. | | 10 | Matti Breschel | Rabobank Cycling Team | s.t. | |
Excellent work from Greipel, getting his 11th win of the season.
In other news:
Jurgen is now 4th in the GC in the Vuelta! He's behind Contador, Valverde and Anton.
See you for the next race (GP Jef Scherens) |

Eric has improved much in TT this season, but De Gendt is still better! (I gave De Gendt more TT than the official database)
However, with a great form, he could make NC TT next year, but that'll depend on his (and De Gendt's) calender. |

Updated the first blog with a more complete bio since their career started at Lotto-Belisol, including victories per year, notable results, GT results and for Stijn cobbled results. Will be updated regularly. |
