Dominant French 1-2. That gives them something to take away from the Worlds, unless they do well on Sunday.

Happy about Silverstre and Carvalho (19th and 23rd), managing to get inside the best 25. |

That was pretty boring, to be honest.
Aren't U23 races supposed to be more "chaotic" than elite races? If so, it's not looking good for Sunday

It was flatter than I expected, and that says a lot. There were non stop attacks and still an enormous bunch made it to the finish.
I hope Phil spoils the sprinters party.

Too bad the Germans lost theit position and thus didn´t get a medal. Congrats to the French.
I hope for interesting junior´s and women races tomorrow, and please, please, no win for Gilbert on Sunday

So, no hope of a break getting away, or of dropping Cavendish, so the only question is if the final hill is to tough for him

That happens when you've got a sprinter who has every chance of being a superstar one day, and a bunch of scrubs competing for 2nd.
Seriously, aside from Demare who can be a star, the rest of this crop of U-23 sprinters really suck.
Nizzolo has turned pro and Boivin wasn't there, so......scrubs.

I think Petit was the strongest sprinter, Demare can be a star but by watching the last km Petit did a massive difference in the last 300m and Demare really struggled to go past him. But that was the initial order and Demare crashed in mid race and had to change bikes twice so I guess he could have been even more impressiv
Just to say Petit (who already got a few nice results) can also be a good sprinter.
I'll pray fot them not to have an average carrer like most promessing french riders...
Anyway hurray

Nice race, French domination with really nice lead-out. Vakoc did solidly and took 15th place, with better lead-out he would be definetely in top 10. Hopefully, he will get a place in a men's team.. That's main problem for riders from Czech Republic..
I can't wait for Sunday. I really believe that this course is especially perfect for Peter Sagan because of that hill finish. But still, I have a question mark about his stamina in 200+ km races..

I used to be owned regularly by Lucy Garner in U12 cyclo cross. Really happy for her. |

I don't mean to spoil the party, but this time genetic doping has just become too obvious.
Wouldn't 4 legs be more useful for cyclists anyway ? |
