Piepoli receives two-year ban
I think a new bet should be added to the current ones:
Will Piepoli be back in 2011?

Maybe it was a joke, but he did finish 3rd on a Tour of California stage, and he has stated that he really wanted to ride Milan-San Remo that year
Other than that, i agree with you. I can also easily see Piepoli returning to ride for a small italian team |

Not news, just a reminder:
Final list of giro invites should be announced at a random time this week. These decisions will be much more definitive than the preliminary list. |

Pecharroman received a 9 month suspension in 2007 (or 08? I don't quite remember) for having used propecia, some sort of hair product. He was fired by Benfica and decided to stop his career.
However, CAS has now reversed the decision - and in the 2009 list of forbidden substances, propecia has been removed. |

I bet none of you know were the Garmin squad for California is going to be doing the weekend before the start of the race... I do
Cozza, Danielson, Farrar, Pate, Tuft, Vande Velde, and Zabriskie are signed up to do the pro event at a classic Nor Cal Criterium in Napa called Cherry Pie
Guess who's going to be there from the buttcrack of dawn racing and well into the afternoon harassing pro's. I know also that several BMC riders will race there as well.

Barloworld has added a sponsor:
Barloworld has added Italian food company Pezziol as a supporting sponsor for the team managed by Claudio Corti. The name will be added to the 2009 jersey.
Eneco changes dates:
The UCI ProTour Council (UPTC) has approved a request by the organisers of the Eneco Tour to bring their event forward to August 18-25, 2009 (from August 19-26, 2009).

If Cozza or Z wins one, then be quick to volunteer to eat it, so they won't get cherry pie stuck in their facial hair

Well I seem to remember that Barloworld achieved next to nothing in the Giro, so perhaps that has something to do with why they aren't riding |
