Thanks for the update Roturn! Grin

We aren't doing as well as I hoped, kinda down to Nizzolo and Gallopin - our top 2 picks, scoring much less than I was aiming for so far, if nly I had gone for Vivianni. Pfft

Tour should be another points vacuum for us, so the Autumn classics with De Bie, Van Aert and Terpstra will be our only chance to move up. Pfft

De Bie following and in fact with a much better total, which some kind of making it his breakthrough season it seems.

Actually he's been good for quite some time, he's just rode for Lotto beforehand and thus only had leadership in Autumn, now on a ProConti team he gets leadership all year - though last year he did have an injury.

Yes regarding De Bie. But for the big breakthrough he probably needed to step down to PCT.
Give him 1-2 years down there and he surely can have bigger role in WT again.

Well, he is having a breakthrough in both I hope. Pfft

Sorry for the lack of recent updates. The ManGame simply steals too much time for this right now.

Will try to get some points updates for the next races and also have a July Update coming in the next days.

And once the MG Offseason is over soon, more time should be available again.

Tour de France
Spoiler

Hillis might have done a new all-time high with Geraint Thomas. Over 1000 points from one rider alone and hence he is twice as high as the next manager!
Must also be a all-time low by me scoring 0 points in a GT...not a surprise without a single rider in it though.

Roglic for Abishek and Kruijswijk for Marcovdw came "closest" with Degenkolb nicely on the score board as well for Ollfardh while Landa might have had chances to score more for jseadog maybe.

Sprinter Gaviria scored well for ivaneurope but could have done so much better without a mid-Tour DNF.

Pointwise surely a race to forget for Benoot, Gallopin and LLS. All with early DNF, while also hopes were probably higher on Poels, Frank, Amador. Though they were early helpers and hence not much more than minimum points.

Ollfardh
The first GT winner that was eligible or was that Dumoulin? Incredible score by hillis. Good scoring from Degenkolb and Latour might save my season.
Changed my sig, this was getting absurd.

Yay! I'm no longer first in the rankings!

Thanks Cav for your massive points return in the Tour de France Angry

trekbmc
And now it starts, Van Aert, Grivko, Le Bon, Nizzolo, Rosskopf have all begun scoring for Autumn, if we're going to make a comeback, it's now.

Of course, most likely this is a one-off and we aren't ever going to get any closer. Pfft

Ranking Update #7 - July

The big Post TdF update is here. The July ranking update with races such as TdF being just the top of the updates. Several NCs were races as well and hence big scoring of some riders, that don`t get onto the scorerboard a lot. Lots of small Nation scoring as well.

Then the Tour of Austria, which was won by Ben Hermans ahead of Pernsteiner and Cataldo.

Some races only partly included and without the big GC points such as HC events Wallone or Qinghai Lake, which will go into the August update.

Ride London though probably in the July update as it`s on the edge. Young rising star Ackermann in huge form right now, which continues in August, which can already be said. If only a team went for him. 765 pts and 31st in the CQ Ranking! Viviani and Nizzolo though scored and hence for the league.

dominox lost the lead, which was in fact just 137 points in June. He drops down to 2nd while AbishekLFC goes onto pole position.

The big jump though was made from hillis91 with the TdF win by G.Thomas. From 7th to 3rd and just a bit behind the leading duo. Also jandal7 and Marcovdw closed the gap.

At the bottom ivan, Ollfardh and Croatia with decent scorings and hence extend the gap to the bottom 3.

matt and roturn worst of the month. At least later wasn`t participating in the Tour. Pfft

It remains quite similar. dominox and NV fight for the top spot around 88%.
Ollfardh though hugely closed the gap. From 13% behind post June, he is only 3-4% behind now while also Jandal is up to 80%.

League Average is ~65%, hence some teams hugely underperforming.

Viviani has lost the long lead! New individual top scorer is TdF winner Geraint Thomas for hillis, which is no surprise. The difference between 2017 and 2018 is huge.

Roglic also upped his score with the almost TdF podium and hence a gap behind the actual trio in front.

S. Yates, Bernal, Wellens, Impey, Fuglsang all around the 1000 point mark.

Some riders such as A.Yates, Landa, Jungels or even Fuglsang might have hoped for a better TdF scoring.

Now it will be interesting who of those stage racers decides to go point hunting in the Vuelta later on. Landa might despite having an injury right now. Not sure about others? Miguel Angel Lopez? One of the Yates?

No big changes. Craddock, De Bie, Moser the top three. First is now most popular for his impressive Tour de France with an injury since day 1. Hence no big scoring really for him but he did finish.

A bit out of the top10 the most impressive is G.Thomas with 241% but with a total of almost 2000 points! Huge.

When going for those high scorers, Viviani, Roglic, S.Yates, Bernal, Fuglsang, M.A.Lopez, Kruijswijk, G.Bennett are all around 115-140% area.

Impey another big one at 385% while also Latour is doing fine at 171% making yet another step forward. Unfortunately out for some time due to injury since San Sebastian.
Formolo 232%, Laporte 204%, Schachmann 171% all just like Latour with a big next step.

Spoiler

Kittel now passed Felline and is at the top of this unloved ranking. He is far from his best since joining Katusha and unlikely he remains with the team or even getting a similar big contract again.

Henao Montoya had almost no freedom races this year and not sure the Vuelta could change this while Meintjes must hope for a good Vuelta. So far this is some kind of stagnation season for him, similar for Barguil.

Spilak and Albasini seem to not have it anymore and big results might be more rare with every season. Same for Tony Martin, who also had bad luck with lots of crashes though.

At the bottom Cavendish also with a small minus but the total says more. Already 2017 wasn`t great. On a fast way down and likely not far to retirement.

Tao Hart is interesting. He improved a lot this season most would say. Point wise this isn`t the case but he rarely got to lead himself. Surely will change in future and not sure he rides the Vuelta as well as 2nd or 3rd leader maybe?

Surely the last season Ackermann is not getting picked. 675 points! Sosa as well up to 421 after winning teh Sibiu Tour in July (already had teh win in Adriatica Ionica, Bihor and several other big results. The new Egan Bernal of Androni? Surely a similar kind of development and way. Question is where he is going to ride in 2019. WT is surely possible.

Sagan as CQ leader obviously at the top, while Valverde at 3rd and Froome as 6th also on similar scoring as usual.

Alaphilippe with another step and wonder how much he can still develop. Surely one of the very best riders in the peloton already.

Quintana on the way down it seems and also Boasson Hagen, Mollema (despite a strong San Sebastian to be added yet), Greipel, Ulissi, Nibali, Costa, Zakarin, Bouhanni all on the way down.

Matthews, Uran and Aru big questionmarks. Lots of injuries and a hugely underperforming year surely for all of them. 2019 can only be better. Maybe even as potential draft picks then. Wink

Nibali also could have gone better without that TdF crash while Pinot is back in form for a big Vuelta it seems after missing out huge Giro points due to serious health issues.

Race Results

Some recent race scoring without the avg./startlist formulas. Just individual and team scoring.

Tour de Wallonie
Spoiler

Tim Wellens and Serry the top scorers here for Marcovdw and OZrocker. And the rise of the undrafted Quinten Hermans, who looks like a top talent to draft for 2019.

Danmark Rundt - Tour of Denmark
Spoiler

trekbmc with both race winner Van Aert and high scorer Grivko takes nice scoring here. Jandal7 with Lasse Hansen also high on hte list while TAmijo and sutty or marco can`t be too unhappy neither.

Clasica San Sebastian
Spoiler

Alaphilippe and Mollema the top riders here but undraftable. Similar for Van Avermaet.

League wise Roux with a bit of a surprise as 3rd for AbishekLFC.
Hillis post TdF remains on a strong trend with Simon and Vanendert both on the scoreboard.
Aquarius, alexkr, Marco and some more also with decent scoring for a classic.

Startlists

Tour de Pologne
2018-08-04 - 2018-08-10

It`s already a bit into the racing. But anyway. OZrocker looking good with Teuns in the mix next to S.Yates. dominox with Carapaz also a danger for the league title, while Jandal with Bennett is having a good bet here.
NV with Buchmann at least should get decent points.

Spoiler
Spoiler
- 51% of the peloton are in the Fantasy League
- Top Riders: S.Yates, D.Teuns, S.Oomen, R.Carapaz, R.Dennis, G.Bennett, R.Kreuziger, D.Formolo, E.Buchmann

The Larry H.Miller Tour of Utah
2018-08-06 - 2018-08-12

US Races or the races, where Van Garderen wins. Hence Aquarius in a good position with bbl (Woods), matt (Tvetcov), roturn (Haig), ember (Hermans) following.

Britton, Bookwalter, Power, Mannion, Powless, Stetina other riders that use to do well here.

Vuelta a Burgos
2018-08-07 - 2018-08-11

Burgos is a must win for roturn really with 8 riders and that lineup around Miguel Angel Lopez. That said, likely I don`t. Pfft

Next to MAL, Bilbao (ember), de la Cruz (jaxika) are solid bets.

But come on MAL, Fernandez, Kudus, Meintjes, Madrazo, Pardilla, Bol, Geoghegan Hart...give me this win.

Degenkolb improved somewhat, still if I had a better top pick, this could've been a much better season. Oomen or Latour in the Vuelta (not as a domestique this time) could save the season, but I probably shouldn't get my hopes up.

As always, thanks for the update!
Changed my sig, this was getting absurd.

jandal7
Hope for some Anton/Cummings/Taaramae surprise in Burgos, and Huffman to turn up in Utah (which I'm lead to believe he doesn't normally Pfft). Bennett is taking Poland a bit easier but seems in decent form obviously with the podium result yesterday. I'd hope to see Alba do something if he's got a free role, and maybe Devenyns too.

And super duper LNH in Danmark getting some nice points! Thanks a lot for the update roturn Smile
24/02/21 - kandesbunzler said “I don't drink famous people."
15/08/22 - SotD said "Your [jandal's] humour is overrated"
11/06/24 - knockout said "Winning is fine I guess. Truth be told this felt completely unimportant."

My riders listened apparently.

MAL, Kudus on podium for now, Tao Hart, Meintjes and Pardilla also in top10 GC after the first mountain with 2 hard stages remaining though.

roturn
Tour de Pologne
Spoiler

OZrocker really rocked it here with the two top scorers league wise. Jandal with Bennett might have had one of the strongest and most active riders but didn`t get the better scoring. roturn with Preidler and some more scoring by Moreno, Henao or Owsian takes 2nd due to depth.

Tour of Utah
Spoiler

The Tour of Utah became the Tour de Kuss and hence Tamijo with that glory pick dominated. Hermans and Haig deliver ember and roturn solid races while it`s bbl312 taking 2nd with Bookwalter and Woods combined.

Vuelta a Burgos
Spoiler

Depth works well if 5 riders finish inside the top10! roturn with Lopez, Hart, Pardilla, Kudus and Meintjes couldn`t do much better as also the other 3 riders scored a bit.
And as nobody picked Sosa (huge mistake) that`s also the individual win. Jaxika with De La Cruz and Jandal with Anton come closest.

European Championships RR
Spoiler

Trentin beats the cyclo cross stars and takes the jersey for Tamijo. But while trek with Van Aert remains 3rd, Marcovdw actually moves into the team win with Cimolai also present.

BinckBank Tour
Spoiler

Mohoric dominated the race and hence dominox takes big points with Jakobsen and Naesen also present.
Marcovdw yet again came close to pass team wise but Wellens and Mühlberger was not enough. Still reat scoring just like Tamijo with Schachmann or sutty with Van Baarle.

EuroEyes Cyclassics Hamburg
Spoiler

jaxika really did have the best pick in Viviani this season and he is getting the next big win. Tamijo with Euro Champ Trentin mainly and Ollfardh with Degenkolb following.

Arctic Race of Norway
Spoiler

Chernetskiy continued what looked strong in Pologne already and took the win in Norway while Van der Poel was close to 3 sprint wins and is impressively strong in the 2nd half of the season. OZrocker with good depth as next to the winner also Roche performed well while Marco following next.

Colorado Classic
Spoiler

UnitedHealthCare vs. Education First in the Colorado Classic, which actually is a stage race. In the end Mannion took the win ahead of team mate Tvetcov and hence jaxika and matt are top scorers. Carthy and Dombrowski follow for Ollfardh and Croatia with Howson in between for Tamijo.

roturn
Must say first three races were great for me and hopefully move me up a bit.

Burgos was the needed big win even though was hoping Lopez to take the GC over Sosa actually.
But great depth then worked well.

Haig in Utah and Preidler mainly in Pologne with some depth behind worked well as well.

Not having a lot in the other races and obviously Mannion getting back on track again once I don`t have him in my team. Pfft

Hopefully this performance continue with the Vuelta and other races. Not having checked the startlist yet and will try to do this week still. But when doing great in Burgos, I hope to have a nice lineup there as the 0 riders in the Tour de France was a bummer for me.

Ollfardh
At least we're scoring again, but 0 points in Binckbank was just an all time low. No Oomen or Latour for the Vuelta it seems, so that plan won't work either. Maybe Degenkolb can get some more classic results but I don't see my season ending well.
Changed my sig, this was getting absurd.

dominox
I completely forgot about Binckbanck and the fact that I had Morohic in my team here. That surprising. Other races went decent but no really big scores.

Marcovdw
Van der Poel was a great pick from me Cool
