how can you be only one lap back while being 4 seconds a lap slower
Maybe Arie was two times lapped, but the leader crashed out the race three laps before the end. So you actually have to compare Rosanski's time with Arie's, and that's only 3,271 seconds. And these are only their fastest laps so the difference per lap could differ.

I think, that Arie just didn't made a pitstop(or at least 1 stop less)...That could be the reason for this.

Good race for De Forest, 5th place enough to be in 4th overall individually. Would be great if things kept that way. |

That was unexpected... Finishing, and the teammate scoring... Great party that was!

I'll have to drive Vallelunga tomorrow in Assetto Corsa to get used to it.

Vallelunga has several tracks on the circuit so it could be (a bit) different. The right circuit is included in my post above, but of course it's good to have experiences with the track.

Race Masters Evolved – Race 5 – Italy – Vallelunga – Preview
Already the fifth race of the season and now we go to Italy. Vallelunga is not a very well known circuit, although some winter tests of Formula One take place here. The Race Masters Evolved gives Vallelunga a chance to be a certain place on the calendar. Let’s take a look at it!
Vallelunga has different tracks on the circuit but this is the one on which the Race Masters Evolved drivers will race. A very fast first sector is probably the best part of the circuit. We might see some cars hit each other at turn two so a high speed crash could be possible. There are also many places to overtake. Turns 3, 4, 5, 7 and 10 are very good places to overtake. Also the high speed turn 2 could be used as overtake place on this circuit, but also as a corner to settle for an overtake at turn 3. With many overtake corners at the middle part of the circuit it could be easy to counter some attacks and take positions back. Nevertheless the qualification will be important as well, although you still have a chance when you don’t start at the front row.
The Favourites
Sebastian Schumacher almost took his first victory last race and he could have a chance here as well, as long as the car is good enough. Paul Rosanski could maybe surprise here as well after he took his first victory last race. And of course don’t forget the classification leader Panico who’s still very fast and finished second last race, although his supremacy could’ve ended now.
The Dark Horse
Joe Armstrong, Justin Clark and Moreno Costa are all teammates of the drivers called above and they could surprise, just like both Dunemonte drivers who are actually every race the Dark Horse. Justin Clark will test himself after he missed last race due an injury. It’ll be interesting what he can do and after he saw his teammate winning last race he surely wants to be on the podium as well.
The Local Drivers
There are three Italian drivers on the grid and the best one so far is Moreno Costa. The second driver of Mazzilionia Racing surely is the favourite driver of the fans here. He really wants to go for the podium. Ricciardo Gambino has already surprised sometimes this season and he really wants to surprise this race as well. Arie DePalma is the third Italian on the grid. He was really struggling during the first three races of the season but last race he was already better so it looks like he has found his pace.
The Local Team
Mazzilionia Racing is quite dominant and the Italian team really wants to win this race. With three victories out of four races, two second places and a third place the team is really on their way to win the constructors championship. Nevertheless it’s still early in the season so everything is still possible, but the race on Vallelunga could be another step towards a possible constructors championship.
Drivers’ Opinions and Expectations
Ounheua Khochaleune: “That last race was a success! The party we had after Lloyd's first points, and my first finish was pretty awesome, even my manager got drunk! I hope this will mean we started our climb to becoming a decent team capable of scoring points more often, and why not here in Vallelunga? I could use some more beer...”
Sebastian Schumacher: “Vallelunga is an interesting circuit with a nice mix of high speed passages over Start/Finish-area and after turn 3 and challenging slow turns 7-8-9. I hope to continue where I stopped in the last race. Hopefully, my team will be able to control the problems from last race and give me a car that can survive the whole distance of a race without losing power...”
Paul Rosanski: “Vallelunga. I hate Vallelunga. The tracks' first sector is quite good, but after that, there are just some left and right 180° turns. Every of these turns is driven with the same speed. I am just hoping to get some points there.”
Timothy Raue: “I’ve had an awesome evening after the last race. I never expected this, but of course now I have to look to the future and to the next race. I was already looking forward to this race for weeks. There are great curves in this circuit. I hope I can overtake many people this race as well.”
Arie DePalma: “I've no experience with this track, hell I've never even heard of it before. looks fun though. a first sector that almost full speed and the second and third sector are really full or corners. it's going to be important to find the right balance between downforce and topspeed. hopefully I'm able to find that balance so that Jakob has a chance to get our first points (we are nice within the team and share our data).”
Joe Armstrong: “Yeah I think that this is a good track for me as I know that we are quick through the corners, although we've got to be careful as we could have another crash or a mechanical failure and that would be the end of the race, but yeah I'm quietly confident and I think that this will be a good weekend for us. Realistically I think we can be on the front two rows of the grid, although a pole would be a dream, and in the race I think we can achieve a top 3 as the car is running great and I'm driving the best I ever have, I mean I've been driving for a long time, and I think that this is my coming of age so to speak. So yeah I'll do the best I can, and that's all I can hope to achieve, but I know in my head that I expect a top 3 if not a win.”

I don't really agree, Arie did get straight sevens but getting good results by struggling is also possible I guess.
wait a minute, this track is in Italy I thought it was in spain. made my rider look like a fool

Race Masters Evolved - Rumours
As we all know the Italian press is always a bit different compared to other countries. Although the season has only had four races there are already transfer rumours for next season. The Italian press says that Mazzilionia Racing wants to get rid of Antonio Panico. According to the press the team doesn't like his behaviour towards the press. Costa's communication to the press isn't very good as well, but he's Italian. There are already several teams interested in Panico, especially Travinski Racing.
Talking about Travinski Racing, they are also interested in Kurt Jensson. The Russian team really likes the way he kicked the ass of a journalist after he got in a fight with him. His current contract at Angelo Racing is till the end of 2015, but the Hungarian team didn't really like his action so it could be that, when both sides agree, they'll split up at the end of the season.
There's also the rumour that Antlers wants to contract Justin Clark. Clark hasn't had a great season so far and he even missed a race. The British team really wants to contract a British driver, and Clark is the only one on the grid so it's likely they'll try everything to contract him. If Clark goes to Antlers, it looks like oldie Joe Armstrong has to leave. Armstrong is doing very well so far this season and he doesn't worry about his seat for next year. He completely focuses on this season.
Ricciardo Gambino is one of the most wanted drivers on the grid. He's had a very good season so far and he's almost always faster than his teammate James Day. Especially Mazzilionia Racing, which doesn't want to give Panico a new contract, according to the Italian press, would like to contract Gambino. Unfortunately for them Gambino has a two-year contract at Travinski and it doesn't look like Gambino may leave Travinski. But maybe he may if Travinski can get Panico...
What we can say is that we all love the Italian press. Sometimes they write completely nonsense, but sometimes they make rumours come true...

Doest that mean Costa is becoming Mazilliona's first driver? That would be great!

"Gambino is flattered with the interest from other teams in this present moment in time, he is very happy that his efforts have been acknowledged by others but will stay quiet about any contract rumours at this present moment in time."

"What can I say? I'm the run away leader of the championship, over a race more, I'm sure rumours are false, when I'm champion you'll see how important it is to team, others if I need change."
