That 2nd Radioshack rider did his best to stop Cav. Taking Viviani's wheel first, and then pushing him out wide. Need to do more than that to stop Cav though

To bad Steegmans killed his derailleur, would have been nice to see him do a lead-out for once. Great win by Cav none the less, even though the team was on the front a little to early.
Cycling isn't a sport, it's a passion.

Damn, Viviani had the perfect position but Cav was just too fast.

First he has to close a gap to Viviani when Steegmans has a mechanical problem, then Hondo boxes him in. And still he wins. Awesome.
Goss on the other hand seems to be far from what he used to be. Perfect leadout and still gets beaten by 4 guys.

Can't say they did a bad job, Goss was delivered perfectly with 250 to go. His sprint on the other hand was weak with 4 guys overtaking him.

Yep, Lancaster and Howard did a good job. Goss is sucking at the moment though.
He should hopefully improve with next days.

Cav is certainly one of the all time great sprinters, another absolutely amazing sprint from him - up there with his MSR win and stage 19 at last years tour.
Not sure Bouhanni has the right tactic for winning sitting on Cav's wheel but he sure got sucked up to a great position. Very good from him and Viviani.
Almost inevitable crash, some of the corners seemed tight. That's the reality of Napoli, I guess.
I think Cav has a small chance of staying in pink for Monday cio, then again it could perhaps be a Sky/Garmin rider - is that preferable?

Don't think Omega Pharma will be up there tomorrow. Trentin, Golas, Keisse, Steegmans, Brambilla and Pineau are not guys you ride a good TTT with. The motivation of the pink jersey might give them some motivation but defending 20" on Sky/Garmin, don't think that's possible.

Oh wow, if a GC rider is in the front that's a huge move.
Was within 3km, wasn't it?
Ah missed the crash because I was on Facebook at the same time.
Oh Orica, you'll figure it out one day. Ergh, they had the only train there.....
People going off at Goss because he had to sprint with 250 to go with 5 men on his wheel. Never going to hold him off. Please, be objective, or don't comment at all. Lancaster had already done work at the frontthe final 5 k, before the crash, then did a bit after in the last k. Howard did extremely well, but with the less numbers, didnt have the legs. Goss was forced to sprint early. OGE positional awareness was their downfall, not Goss. |

Too bad that we haven't seen Degenkolb today. Hope that the guys of that last crash are okay, it's not nice to have already guys who give up in the first stage. But great win by Cav, and that interview was also fun.

Wurf finished 2 minutes down, so he won't profit from the bonuses. No GC contenders crashed, here in Portugal they said Betancur had fallen, but it was actually Beletti. |
