Canadiens beat the Bruins, I've got them going to the Cup in my bracket.
Can I get some decorum in this forum?
I'm afraid I've got some BAD NEWS.
The Canadiens are going to lose to the Rangers in 6 and be eliminated, busting your bracket.
Thank you.
In 7, Rangers can never ever close a series out before 7. |

BBL being the most arrogant member of Daily? Not even close, the king of arrogance was not logged in almost a month now, so maybe you can take his crown though...
Nice win for Rangers, as i hate Penguins since Jagr left.

Avin, you really do seem to like following only Jagr.
The only times you come in here is to tell us another record he's broken

Penguins spare Dan Bylsma again but fire GM Shero.
The new GM will be deciding the fate of Bylsma

Why do you say that? They've always been my sleeper to go far (see bracket)
-Not guaranteed to be the best, but Carey Price will always play like a Top 5 goalie when it counts
-Pacioretty breaks through in the regular season
-PK Subban one of the best OFD in the playoffs
-Thomas Vanek fits into the system, arguably one of the best trade deadline deals
-Can play with speed if necessary, can also play physical (e.g. Emelin)

So the Eastern Conference finals don't count?
Looking good for the Blueshirts after Game 1! Kreider finally showing why he was so touted as a prospect, and in a huge way!

"finally" - He's been great the whole season, his combination of speed and power is so hard to deal with for the D-men. |

Every goalie has that game...
What I mean is like you need to have a clear #1 going into the playoffs. Like with LA and Quick...he had a rough start but settled in nicely. Look at Anaheim. Too much goalie mess and not enough time to solve it.

I didn't see the final 3 goals, but the first three weren't really his fault. The only bad one was the 4th goal by Richards.
As for Montreal not deserving to be this far. Thats just soo wrong. I've watched them the whole way up to this point and they've been one of the most consistent teams, and all 4 lines were producing.
I think what we saw today was a NY team that was able to spread a lot of speed throughout their lines and that way they would always have the upper hand on some of Montreals slow defenders in Emelin and Markov. The past two rounds, TB and Boston haven't had the speed to be able to mis-match the Habs as long as the Habs can get the right guys out there. Now NY's team is too fast from top to bottom that the matchups really dont matter, those two I menetioned above are always going to get beat.
Another factor is Montreal is well known for being a very poor afternoon game team, while New York have several of them a year, and if they dont thrive in them, they are at least the more successful team when it comes to playing at 1pm/noon
Finally, the Rangers have had a lot of slumping players. People dont realize the crazy depth that they have, but their team is stacked. I think they got a couple of the "slumpers" wheels rolling again today, and they could be a very tough team to knock off from this point forward.

Of course he's been great but what I mean is that the way he played tonight was like a star player, not a just good shift taker, but like what Nash is supposed to be.

Yeah i can agree with that, he's a bit inconsistent, probably has to do with age. He has all the tools to be the best power forward in the league, just needs to put them together on a daily basis. |

Price out of the series, sad for him. Really pathetic by Therrien to go after Kreider when it was a clear accident caused by Emelins slash to his knee. |

Stupid refs. Completely miss the hit on Stepan. Prust lands a huge hit, Carcillo gives him some payback and he get 2 minutes for charging. As he goes to the box he gives the refs a little problems and he gets another one.
I expected a 10 minute but he gets a GAME MISCONDUCT! WTF!? That's every excessive in my opinion. A 10 minute misconduct would have been fine. Referees must be really very powerful today.

The hit on Stepan was dirty and the refs have been awful this game, completely one sided from them until the compensation pen on Gallagher. Hope we can close this game out without these stupid refs. |

Impossible, NHL does not want to see another sweep involving a Montreal-based team

Honestly I am not bothered by the loss at all. We played a solid game, suffered from some bad calls and gave up a couple of cheepies. I still think this will be over in our favor in 5 or 6, but I won't get too cocky. i have no doubt the Canadians can come back just like we did against Pittsburgh.

If the Habs goals were a 5/10 on the cheepy scale, both those rangers goals were both atleast a 7/10
I think the Habs had a way better game today. Tokarski looked a lot like Price at times, although he's a little smaller and they did pretty well to shut down Kreider. Still had problems containing Hagelins speed and Nash when he decides to try. But a lot closer game.
