I catched up from page 10 to the end and it was fantastic read, you are really great story-writer, i enjoyed it very much.
Congrats to all the great results, icluding 1-2 in Utah, stage win and later KOM for Ryan and great results als owith Boswell (shame he i on the leave) and Craddock.

I am really interested in changes of the team sponsor and new riders for PCT. Good luck in the rest of the season.Smile
I'll be back

One rider (the better of the two) is within these names. So it`s not Tom Boonen. Wink More news will come later.
@Avin: Thanks a lot. It won`t last long until more names and other stuff are announced. Should be within the next days.

GP Kralovehradeckeho Kraje

i1101.photobucket.com/albums/g434/Roturn1988/Eastman/GPKraje_Logo.jpg

Today we will ride a race probably nobody is able to pronounce correct. It`s held in the Czech Republic. I don`t know a lot about this race but as it suited pretty well in our race schedule, we decided to participate.

i1101.photobucket.com/albums/g434/Roturn1988/Eastman/GPKraje_1-180.jpg

It`s mainly a sprinter race as the hills are too far from the finish. Still some teams including us surely want to make the race difficult to avoid a sprint finish. The small hills on the final circuit might give the puncheurs a good chance to surprise.

i1101.photobucket.com/albums/g434/Roturn1988/Eastman/GPKraje_Team.jpg

Jasper Stuyven leads the team and he is supposed to try something in the sprint.
Boswell and Mannion will be our riders for late attacks while Brown and I are going to try to join the breakaway.

i1101.photobucket.com/albums/g434/Roturn1988/Eastman/GPKraje_Startlist.jpg

Not the biggest names but riders like Pedersen, Schets or Arndt really proved their sprint skills this season. In especially the young German seems to have learned a lot and might be an option for a PCT or WT team in the near future.

i1101.photobucket.com/albums/g434/Roturn1988/Eastman/GPKraje_5.jpg

We are already 47km in the race but so far no breakaway was formed. Both of us tried it a few times but the sprinter teams highered the pace and brought everything together every time.

i1101.photobucket.com/albums/g434/Roturn1988/Eastman/GPKraje_8.jpg

Finally 3 riders create a gap. Unfortunately none of us was able to join. Also surprising that Christina Watches has one rider there with Pedersen being a top3 favourite.
So the pressure surely is on other teams.

i1101.photobucket.com/albums/g434/Roturn1988/Eastman/GPKraje_10.jpg

Lots of teams doing the pace. In especially Arndt, Schets and Perez Arrieta are sending their helpers to the front, while we have a calm day after missing the breakaway.

i1101.photobucket.com/albums/g434/Roturn1988/Eastman/GPKraje_12.jpg

With 8km to go the breakaway is caught and Mannion tries an attack on the last slightly uphill terrain. He creates a small gap but the sprinter teams keep their high pace of course.

i1101.photobucket.com/albums/g434/Roturn1988/Eastman/GPKraje_14.jpg

And so he had no chance. Perez Arrieta and Schets had a small gap to the rest of the sprinters. Obviously the hills took care for weaker puncheurs to lose a lot of energy. So the Spaniard takes another win 2012 ahead of the Belgium.
Pedersen sprints onto the 3rd and completes the podium.
We can`t really be unhappy as we tried everything today and Stuyven as 13th and Boswell as 14th delivered a top15.

Soon we will start the USA Pro Cycling Challenge on home ground again. And after our results at home we surely must be watched there.

It's not like it's unrealistic. The team already has a couple of Belgians, like Stuyven and De Buyst. I think it's a nicely chosen path. Smile

I like the chance of the team. As long as you keep riding a lot of these US-races, that's what also makes this story interesting! And great results in Utah!

The team will still be American and so all USA races will be raced.
There won`t be Belgium neo pros and a max of 4-5 Belgiums and 10+ Americans.

So the focus stays the same.

Ian Butler
Never mind that comment, that was just an American speaking Pfft
Hope you get some good Belgian recruits!

If I remember correct I have 4 Belgiums next season. Stuyven + 3 new with De Buyst leaving. But these 3 new are pretty good riders that should help the team in the PCT division and surely strengthen the team.

Giro della Valle d’Aosta

i1101.photobucket.com/albums/g434/Roturn1988/Eastman/Aosta_logo.jpg

The Giro della Valle d’Aosta is a 2.2 cycling race held in the North-West of Italy. On 6 stages it goes over several mountain passes in the Italian Alpes and the French Département Haute-Savoie. It`s one of the most important youth race in Italy next to the Baby Giro.

i1101.photobucket.com/albums/g434/Roturn1988/Eastman/Aosta_profiles.jpg

Just by looking on the profiles you see 3 very hard mountain stages plus another mountain time trial. And the last two stages are supposed to be flat but with lots of hills on the route and hard finishes it`s nothing for pure sprinters.
It`s held parallel to the USA Pro Cycling Challenge, where I unfortunately wasn`t nominated, so I am in the reduced 5 rider team in Italy on uncomfortable terrain.

i1101.photobucket.com/albums/g434/Roturn1988/Eastman/Aosta_Team.jpg

Dale Parker is our only climber here and this means that he won`t have much support. Big disadvantage in especially with a reduced number of riders.
I am already the second best "climber" and might support him longer than the others. Stuyven is primarily looking at the two "flat" stages, while Atkins and De Buyst are our meain helpers on every terrain.

As you can see our strongest riders stayed at home for the Pro Cycling Challenge. I will keep you updated how they perform of course.

i1101.photobucket.com/albums/g434/Roturn1988/Eastman/Aosta_Startlist.jpg

The Italian teams have lots of climbers here like Serpa, Betancourt, Sella or Di Luca. But also the Movistar Continental team is again being very strong around Alarcon.
Further favourites might be Parker, Fothen, Chernetski, Mancebo and the climbers of the Iranian Azad team.

Goals

- Top 10 with Parker

Ian Butler
I hope Ryan makes the best of it, with the tiny team on unknown terrain Wink

valverde321
If this race is truly a youth race, similar to the Baby Giro, its a shame the game cant somehow be configured so that only riders under a certain age will ride it.

Hopefully the oldies dont really show up much, especially Tombak, because I think he's almost 40 Pfft

roturn
Indeed this would have been nice. But not possible unfortunately.

At the moment I can`t go further as the 2nd USA PCC stage keeps crashing. Has anybody else tried the stage and has the same problem or a solution?

roturn
I decided to make a small USA PCC review before the Aosta stages as it is surely the biggest race for the team this season next to the California Tour.

Unfortunately I still can`t pass the 2nd stage due to a loading crash. And actually I hope to repair it somehow instead of replacing the stage. I already contacted the stage creator, which is a bit difficult as I don`t speak French and doesn`t speak English. But I think we will get it somehow. Wink

USA Pro Cycling Challenge

Stage 1 - Durango - Telluride (199,7km)
i1101.photobucket.com/albums/g434/Roturn1988/Eastman/USAPCC_1_1-1997.jpg

The first stage already starts pretty hilly. Still the slopes are not that hard and could give some sprinters a chance.

i1101.photobucket.com/albums/g434/Roturn1988/Eastman/USAPCC_1_2.jpg

Indeed the selection was not the biggest and some better sprinters were able to fight for the stage win.
The surprising winner is Kenda`s Shawn Milne ahead of the favourite Viviani and El Fares.
Our riders finished within the peloton and were able to relax a bit.

Giro della Valle d’Aosta

Stage 1 - Ville-la-Grand - Ville-la-Grand (147,5km)
i1101.photobucket.com/albums/g434/Roturn1988/Eastman/Aosta_1_6-1475.jpg

Also it`s supposed to be a flat stage the climbs are pretty long and tough. This plus the fact that the last 500m are uphill again looks like an exciting stage.

i1101.photobucket.com/albums/g434/Roturn1988/Eastman/Aosta_1_10.jpg

Lots of early attempts failed. In the end it`s Tom Zirbel only being in the solo breakaway.

i1101.photobucket.com/albums/g434/Roturn1988/Eastman/Aosta_1_12.jpg

Huge crash with 10km to go. All our riders and most favourites were able to avoid this crash. But with Jose Alarcon one of the biggest is going down. This could mean a role change of co leader Munoz Giraldo, who should have more support now.

i1101.photobucket.com/albums/g434/Roturn1988/Eastman/Aosta_1_15.jpg

The sprint was very weird as the pure sprinters either had lost contact on the climbs or they went too early with the short climb ahead. In the end we have a very surprising winner here as well. The Ecuadorian allrounder wins ahead of Pacheco Torres and Markus Fothen, who has a great season so far.
Riders like Felline or Berhane, who were focussed by Stuyven went too early. So none of our riders is in the top 20 today.
