Great finish, too bad they didn't have a few hills or mountains before it. |

Froome came in 5th. Only 22" behind Rodriguez so he took back 7" on Contador in the last 300 m. He never gives up.

Are you a French Froome hater?!
Why don't you say something positive about Froome?! (except his doping tests )

What a monsterous climb!
Rodriguez keeps nipping away of course, he really is an absolute expert at this type of finish. He briefly looked like he was struggling to hold Contador's wheel but then bang. Still don't know about how he will cope with the Saturday-Sunday-Monday trio or even Bolo del Mondo - there is this feeling he may go through a bad patch somewhere.
At first I thought Froome had completely blown but finishing 5th pretty close to Valverde - the guy is still battling away. Nice to see Gesink there, he could still be in with a shout of combating the Spanish trio too. Roll on Saturday

Astarloza comparing this 1500m climb with the Angliru. I'll have to agree with Aquarius regarding the intellect of most pros.

Gesink is showing signs of improvement.
And so is Contador. He seems to be getting stronger day by day. |

Rodriguez for points jersey seems to have been a pretty good bet.
A shame I only put in PCM$10 though...
