Wow.
You must be killing yourself for not properly bringing back the breakaway on the 2nd sprint point.

No!!! That is too close! Are you sure Contador didnt dope again? Those sprints he did towards the end were a bit suspicious wheres the press release?
But anyway great story and well done! Have a banana :

Oh come on, Contador, seriously? It was a pity Sagan couldn't make the triple, but you deserve a banana for another Quest for History story.

Well, you may have missed out on the goal, but at least quite an amazing end!
Great work with the story.

Peter Sagan: Files Protest Against Vuelta Organizers
Claiming He Actually Won The Points Contest
Madrid, Spain - Young phenom Peter Sagan was fuming after the Vuelta a Espana organizers did not let him go up and grab his final points jersey and instead awarded the competition to rival Alberto Contador, as they both ended up on 221 points in a thrilling battle all the way to the final sprint. Reporters soon swarmed to Sagan to get his reaction. And he had this to say...
"They can't even follow their own rules... this is unbelievable. To rob me of that moment is unjust. However, I will not back down! They may have ruined my moment... but I will still complete my Quest!" - Peter Sagan

With celebrations going around for hometown hero Contador,
Sagan quickly turned into the bad guy after his short interview with the press.
Beer bottles and boos started heading his way and he only had a short amount of time before the organizers were going to pack up and leave Madrid.
----
"Basso! Where's the team bus? I need to get that book." - Sagan
"About a quarter-mile down the road." - Basso
Sagan takes off on his bike through the reporters.
When he gets to the bus he frantically searches and finally pulls out:
2012 Vuelta a Espana Rule Book
"Got it!" - Sagan
He sprints back down to where the organizers are still congratulating Contador.
"Sorry guys but I'm going to have to rain on your parade." - Sagan
"Dude back off I won this fair and square, I didn't even have steaks for the past 3 weeks. You can check, I have to keep records of that stuff now." - Contador
"No need to... but that was plan B." - Sagan
Sagan flips to page 7 of the rule book. And quotes back:
"Sir, if I stand corrected we both tied on 221 points, right?" - Sagan
"Yes you did, what's your point?" - Vuelta Head Organizer
"Then we go to the first tiebreaker, number of wins..." - Sagan
Sagan, Contador and the head organizer go over their wins.
Stage Peter Sagan Alberto Contador 1 99 56 2 6 100 3 11 8 4 21 2 5 3 55 6 20 2 7 1 70 8 33 3 9 1 10 10 1 44 11 7 1 12 4 6 13 1 41 14 46 1 15 38 1 16 41 1 17 63 12 18 1 9 19 8 26 20 44 1 21 3 14 Total Wins 5 5
"Looks like we tied again with 5 stage wins each, I guess that means we go to the second tiebreaker... number of intermediate sprint wins." - Sagan
"Wait... what!" - Contador
"That's right, so let's tally them up..." - Sagan
Stage Peter Sagan Alberto Contador 1 0 0 2 0 0 3 0 0 4 0 0 5 0 0 6 2 0 7 0 0 8 1 0 9 0 0 10 0 0 11 0 0 12 1 0 13 0 0 14 0 0 15 0 0 16 0 0 17 0 0 18 0 0 19 0 0 20 0 0 21 0 0 Total Wins 4 0
"Sir, I believe that Green Jersey is mine." - Sagan
"I guess so! Contador you got to hand over the jersey... Peter has clearly won the 2012 Vuelta Points Competition." - Vuelta Head Organizer
"I don't want to give this back but here you go. You deserve it." - Contador
Contador hands over the green jersey to Sagan.
"Thank You." - Sagan
"I will announced this to the press and media to give you a proper awards ceremony for such a great achievement." - Vuelta Head Organizer
"It's the least you can do for my fans..." - Sagan
