We have five riders in the break today with a lead of 5m 57s, they are Shimizu/Bridgestone Anchor, Han Action Cycling, Megias/Team Novo Nordisk, Hagenaars/Metec-TKH Continental and Friedemann/Champion System
Goncalves has his team at the front of the peleton
MOUNTAIN – Megias/Team Novo Nordisk
The advantage over the peleton is beginning to come down
Its still Radio Popular who are piling on the pressure
Shimizu gives it one last go before the inevitable catch happens

Popkov has managed to get a small gap on a chasing group of five riders
The six are now all together has we head for the finish
Lewis/Champion System starts the sprint for the line
But its Efimkin/Team Novo Nordisk who springs a surprise and grabs the win

AN POST RAS
Stage 1 – Dunboyne – Dundalk – 138.4km
MOUNTAIN – Prendergast/Polygon Sweetnice
Despite numerous attempts to attack none have yet been successful, a group of four riders are currently the next group to try
SPRINT – D.Downing/Madison Genesis
Finally four riders have managed to break the elastic and establish a big lead of 7m 34s, they are Kuperasov/Itera Katusha, McGowan/Metaltek, Prendergast/Polygon Sweetnice and Caldwell/MG Maxifuel
Despite a number of different teams represented at the front of the peleton there are no signs of a chase developing yet
SPRINT - Prendergast/Polygon Sweetnice
The latest time check comes in as 3m 13s, so the peleton has decided to work
MOUNTAIN - Prendergast/Polygon Sweetnice
Coutts/Herbalife is chasing them alone after escaping from the pack
Caldwell is trying to go solo
He is soon rejoined by Prendergast and McGowan
Coutts catches up with the trio just as Prendergast opens up the sprint for the line
But the Irishman has too much in the tank and easily wins the first stage to round off what has been a great day for him

Ian Butler - Really hope so, but letting that five man group get such a lead is going to be a problem |
