Everybody has a plan until they get punched in the mouth.

Thank god for Bardet attacking, damn this mountain was dull. Froome finally with a stage win this year, ofc it happens on such a boring climb. He looks flawless so far. Hopefully Bertie is next in line.

That acceleration was insane! Not even Valverde could have matched that

It was not smart attack from bardet. And it was basically sprint up the 4 km climb. Froome is without rival definitely. Nibali is weak i expect that he will be better

Purito would match it easily

Why? Sure chances are super slim, but only way to win here a stage is if he takes chances and attacks from a bit more far out (far out as in 3km ofc hehe). He can't win if he tries to outride Froome in the last 1k. His form just too bad for that. Hopefully we'll see some multi mountain attacks in the upcoming stages from him, preferably with Bertie alongside.

Froome using the (mono)superlative "fantastic" in the post stage interview was as surprising as that stage finish...

What happened to Haig today? Just taking it easy after his efforts so far? Or did anything happen?
In case anyone knows/cares :)
A puncture at a critical moment, according to Chaves in their backstage pass. Guess he sat up after that.
Thanks for the info.
A pity he lost so much time, as he once again finished really strong today.
