I still love you, Bala. Danish TV bashing him for yesterday, a bit harsh imo. But I could imagine how hard it is working for another when you have been undisputed captain for 10 years.

Pfft what a stupid comment , obviously a great rider but best of his generation never, when you have riders that have won 7 grand tours and 8 monuments in his generation |

True, but compared to Valverde they have not won a bit of everything.
Do remember that Valverde has a Vuelta win in his pocket as well.
Perhaps they are all on the same lvl. i don't know. But because Valverde has proven himself in so many races of different character, i think he belongs among the best of the best in this generation |

Valverde will not be remembered in the same heights as Contador, Boonen and Cancellara I think that just fact no denying as i've said he is one of the best of his generation and his longevity is amazing but the statement was best of his generation which just isn't true

Some count the World Championship as a monument |

Not sure i agree with that. He may not be remembered as the best of his generation, like other riders have been back in the 80s and 90s, but i think it's hard to make a statement about just yet.
I feel comfident that he won't be the first name popping into peoples head when asked about this period of cycling, but he will be among the first.
WC have never been counted as a monument, and it never will
But with the history and competition in the WC these last decades, winning the WC has around the same value as winning a monument imo. |

I don't quite get what you are trying to say you say you don't agree so in a sense saying he is the best of his generation.
And then say he won't be?
I just don't get how Valverde will ever be seen as a better rider then Contador, Cancellara or Boonen it's just not going to happen

1. Valverde
2. Contador
3. Boonen
4. Cancellara
Contador would be first if he had won more than 1 one-day race.

Consistently great for 10 years, february-october, every terrain. Cause you dont agree with me doesnt mean Im stupid. Contador and Cance will be remembered more, but strictly looking at this guy's result year in and year out, Valv is the best rider of his generation, despite him underperforming in Tour de France, which is why the general consensus is fx. Contador is much bigger |

The love for Valverde here
Valverde is great agreed but the way I see it just him being consistent in races february-october does not make him the best of his generation surely race wins does?
and for me Valverde wins don't stack up to Contador.
