Some interesting results there for an urban TT with only a couple of quick blast ramps thrown in.
Contador takes over the race lead.

Well done, Bertie. Get that GC win.
Froome 8 seconds slower than Bertie and only 10th is uh, surprising. Maybe he won't be the king of whole season-peak at last.

If Contador is Bertie then who is Jeeves? |

Massive crash in Andalusia caused chavoc at the end. Lots of names down, 5 riders of Lotto Jumbo involving Kruswijk, Ten Dam, Kelderman Van Emden and Hofland ( sorrry but ). Mollema and JVDB reported down as well.
The usual suspects, eh?
Mollema still not used to riding for Trek I guess

Mollema 34th, wtf? Should name him Bauke Indurain if he continues with those impressive ITT performances
A little surprised by the fact that Contador was faster, I reckon he would be a little weaker in the spring this year due to him doing the Giro. And a good showning by Intxausti. |

Kreuziger of course. Or maybe Bjarne himself?

It's too bad that Contador never rode with Pinotti. He actually is cycling Jeeves. |

It's 18th February 2015, but I'm starting to think, that Froome isn't as good as he seemd. He had:
very good Vuelta '11 (before that he was unknown)
good '12,
fantastic '13,
pretty good '14.
Ok, his results are impresive, but despite '13 he didn't show he is invincible, so in my honest opinion (controversial) he is overrated. Froome is very good, but he is not a beast. |

Personally I think judgements about Froomes and Bertie's state needs to wait until after Friday and Saturday. Fascinated to see how Movistar play it actually, they look in great shape for it.

Way too early to draw that conclusion imo. Had it not been for Wiggins and the ludicriously TT-heavy route in 2012, Froome had hands down won that year as he simply was the strongest rider on the few climbs (and none of them was particular hard, really).
In 2013, he was the best stage racer and won everything, allthough you can argue he might not have been looking that superhuman if it wasnt for Contador who had a diastrous year. Its also important to add that Quintana and to extrent Rodriguez actually were stronger in the Alps that year and had it not been for Quintana attacks on Pailheres (climb before Domaines) and the early attack on Ventoux, Quintana probably would have come out ahead on the mountain stages second/minute-wise compared to Froome.
2014 was hampered by illness and injuries, but still, he managed to win Oman and Romandie and was the strongest in Dauphine prior to the crash. We dont know if he was stronger than Contador in the Tour and its unfair to judge him on the Vuelta imo.
Its natural to have some ups and downs, especially in cycling due to the relative high risk of illness, bad preparation, crashes etc, but I dont think you can say anything definitive that Froome has regressed, especially not just based on the first ITT of the year in an Urban in February.. I think he is as strong in 2013 now which I also thought he was last year
Edit: Oh, your point wasnt he had regressed, just that he isnt superhuman. That I agree with.

We will see. And of course, you're right, it's very, very early, but my thoughts also based on 2014. I don't think he was strongest in Dauphine before crash. He had strongest team. And crash is always a part of cycling. Froome is a riding computer, he isn't concentrated enough on the road. IMO it's not coincidence, that he was involved in so many crash in 2014 |

I think its safe to assume he was the strongest prior to the crash as he won the ITT and the mountain stage after attacking all the way to the top. Contador didnt have anything left to outsprint him, that was clear imo. |

I'm really curious how Froome could ride in another team, where he would need more instinct and feeling in races |

Oh man I so want Coppel to leave Cofidis and suddenly become good. That place is just such a talent sink. Coppel has been the-guy-waiting-in-the-wings for quite a few years now so I would just like him to have one really kickass season.
