Good OPQS and Vanmarke did not deserve it. They were just wheel sucking. in break and in peleton too. |

Vanmarcke wasn't wheel sucking. He did take relays but was being smart about it, unfortunately it's never worth taking turns with Cancellara as the sprint showed.

Simple.
Vandendbergh - Alot of short attacks + early attack = Too tired.
Van Avermaet - Great sprinter + early attack = A bit more tired than Cancellara, enough to lose the race.
Vanmarcke - Great cobbler, great sprinter + All of this chasing = Stupid tactic, just as it was in PR 2013.

Well I think it is now bedtime for me... its only 10AM here... decided it would be easier to just stay up than to try and wake up at 5 to catch the race.

Great race!
Chapeau to Cance. GVA did great, gutting he couldn't win but did himself proud. Vanmarcke arguably was the strongest in the race, I hope he wins Roubaix next week. After his early fall, Thomas did quite well. Kristoff with another great ride.
Sagan again disappoints in a monument, seems like a habit now.

Though as Roubaix last year showed, it seems like Vanmarcke really just struggles to read the race, or he is a bit too impetuous. He doesn't sit back and hold on to his energy as well as he should. That will come with time.

Really glad to see that, GVA was the star of the race, but gets 2nd. Cancellara does his thing, beating other with both power and tactics getting the win.

omega should redo their tactic
boonen isn't no more a favourite to win a cobble race
they should pick terpstra leader on roubaix

Vanmarcke still young enough (25?) Once he races more clever, he'll own everything. We should rather enjoy the years he is not dominating the (big) classics.
