Gadret back into it for at least top 10. But that's not what we wanted.

I thought RedBull was supposed to be a HTC-Highroad or GreenEDGE like squad, sprinters, leadout men and a few riders with a free role.

Well, the game obviously thinks different, none of my sprinters participated in the sprint today... Sad

At least Rohregger still is in the top 20 of the GC.

Pretty much how I've been feeling this whole time...at least Richeze was able to get up for 10th.

i1346.photobucket.com/albums/p690/TheRider11/Warp1_zps150fe7e2.jpg

Today was a good stage for enjoying cycling. Gentle wind, easy terrain and the peloton not pushing themselves, however a lot of riders are bound to be suffering this far into the race.

i1346.photobucket.com/albums/p690/TheRider11/PCM0725_zpsb0d13c6c.jpg

The first man to attack was, once again, Gabrovski(SSL) who is having a great tour for himself. He was joined by Nazaret (BDB), it was great to see Banco do Brasil still showing ambition after getting a fabled stage win on stage 13.

Many riders put in early attacks, such as Margailot(BZQ) and Commeyne(IKO), with 30 kilometres into the race and Standard Chartered and Nokia-Ekspla controlling the peloton we have a successful break of 9 riders.

i1346.photobucket.com/albums/p690/TheRider11/PCM0728_zpsbaad41b3.jpg

The nine riders were: Brandle(RBL), Grivko(AFL), Jorgenson(IKO), Ludvigsson(KLO), Nazaret(BDB), Puccio(BZQ), Sarabia(TCL), Saramotins(BSE) and Gabrovski who was best placed at 43'14.
Over the early testing climbs and Sarabia, missed a few turns, looked to be the rider who suffered the most.

In the bunch Di Luca(STM) was setting pace on the peloton as was Petro China, both having missed the break.

The race inches along. With 125 kilometres to go the break has 8:30, Standard Chartered, Pulso Verde and Kulalu begin the chase.

i1346.photobucket.com/albums/p690/TheRider11/95_zps693556eb.jpg

i1346.photobucket.com/albums/p690/TheRider11/PCM0731_zps26205d7c.jpg

With 95 kilometres to go the break have 7 minutes advantage when they reach the intermediate sprint at Montpellier. The only rider to contest the sprint and gain points was Hinault(SCD) (3 points) but must have been upset as some of his domestiques were ahead of him.

i1346.photobucket.com/albums/p690/TheRider11/30_zps991bf4d8.jpg

i1346.photobucket.com/albums/p690/TheRider11/PCM0732_zps99e70aad.jpg

Into the last 30 kilometres the break have 2 minutes advantage when four riders attack........A GOOD MOVE....... They are: Durbridge(PDA), Navardauskus(QMS), O'Grady(TNA) and Trofimov(AFL). They bridge across to the original break in less than 6 kilometres and have 1:45 over the peloton as they head towards the steep Mont Saint Clair, Sarabia is immediately dropped, so is Nazaret and Gabrovski, now 10 riders are out front. ....

i1346.photobucket.com/albums/p690/TheRider11/PCM0734_zps0f4a9801.jpg

Meanwhile in the peloton Vogondy(STM) has a technical difficulty, his whole team are back to help him, it really has been a dreadful tour for Slovak Telecom. Gonzales(CLE) has enough and abandons, he was the first to fall in the whole race and was suffering ever since..

i1346.photobucket.com/albums/p690/TheRider11/AF_zps431bd61f.jpg

i1346.photobucket.com/albums/p690/TheRider11/PCM0735_zps393eea98.jpg

The climb has been passed. With 18 kilometres to go the break have an advantage of 1:45, with 13 kilometres to go they have an advantage of 1:20 with 10 kilometres to go the break .......

i1346.photobucket.com/albums/p690/TheRider11/PCM0736_zps237352c4.jpg

increase their advantage to 1:40 as the sprinters teams withdraw from setting the pace and Nokia Ekspla come to the front not concerned with the stage win. The break was going to make it.

i1346.photobucket.com/albums/p690/TheRider11/PCM0737_zpsfb3bd029.jpg

Into the final and a golden opportunity for the break. Durbridge is the first to take up the pace.....but goes to early, Latvian champ Sarmotins is looking good and comes around him....

i1346.photobucket.com/albums/p690/TheRider11/PCM0738_zps8b6ae605.jpg

SARAMOTINS.....also goes too early! O'Grady comes flying past.......but so does Trofimov....it is a drag race to the line......OH MY...

i1346.photobucket.com/albums/p690/TheRider11/PCM0741_zpsbfe9e2ee.jpg

O'Grady wins......wait NO... Trofimov celebrates... there is much confusion at the line.....when after much deliberation.......

i1346.photobucket.com/albums/p690/TheRider11/PCM0747_zpsc081b03a.jpg

The win is given to Trofimov! WIN NO.2 FOR AEROFLOT. I'm sure few would have liked to call that one... Hinault won the sprint for 11th, all other classifications remain the same.

The end of stage 13 is to bad. Phinney was so close, but he taked a lot of points for the Point classification, hopefulle he can win it! Smile
A nice place for Jorgenson in stage 14 and Phinney takes also some points for the Point classification. Smile

Yeah Aeroflot continue their great run of form....but it does look like Trofimov and O'Grady finished dead level. Pfft

@MrUFO- two good stages for Bridgestone in a row!

@TMR- I don't see Phinney losing that Jersey if he stays in the race.

@The Rider: I hope so!
