I'm fine with that too, but Soccer is no doubt the most popular sport worldwide, although I hate when its called football.

Depends how you define sport and most popular. Largest participation is cycling. Most watched events are the Super Bowl, Tour de France, certain cricket matches.
But Football is the most widespread sport certainly.
Football was created a long time before American Handegg. The first leagues, governing bodies, rules, competitions etc. came long before American Handegg. Its name is Football and you Americans can't seem to grasp that, even though American Handegg came after it and attempted to steal the name.

Why? Too much truth for ya?

Why is the ball in american football oval, exactly? Is it to introduce an element of surprise?
"Oh here comes to ball, I wonder where it's gonna bounce! Oh look, it's gone all wobly! Weee"
