Incidentally, I now live in Pau so it's the Tourmalet for me tomorrow.
Nice to have that on the doorstep! Good luck - you going for under an hour or are you planning on taking it easy?
200K round trip so I won't be gunning for a time

Personally I'd be happy with survival if only doing the climb itself. The air ambulance would then take care of the return trip

Isn't an hour up Tourmalet what the pros are riding? Haven't go anything to compare with other than the Ventoux. About the same length, same steepness and I rode about 1.30? (On holiday some years ago, but still) I guess one hour has to be a great time.
Good luck Strydz, you are crazy!
Ended the racing season last week with 13-14 kms in breakaway and a 20th place. Have waited for the off-season some time now! |

it's sad, that i don't have such mountains in my region...the hardest "mountain" we have is around 3 km long with an average of around 15% and a peak of 21%...but if you are on top, you need to turn around and take the same route back -.-

But it is a great hill! I don't know what I'd give to have a hill like that in my region
BTW, are you serious? 3 kms with a 15% avg slope and a 21 max? I know few mountains/hills/cotes like that in the world. 1 of them is Scanuppia with more than 20 average and points with a 45% (and I am not kidding). But that is simply another thing

3km at 15% average with a Max of 21% sounds killer. If you push yourself fast enough you'll be empty alright each time.

still not really bad though, not a mountain like Tourmalet of course but still something that isn't easy. more of a spanish mountain

i rode it today again to check...it's more like 2.4km with minimum of 6% and max. of 21% and an average of 14.8(if i did the math right)...but there it also a 200m downhill section before the 21%...i rode it in 8.5 minutes, but it was at the start of my todays tour...i'm not quite good in downhilling, so the ascend was better for me, than the descend..

Oh, that's a great hill, though.

No way you did 2,4km averaging 14,8% in that time. That'd be about 570 watts for a 70kg person.

You can download their app and track your activity. Take a look in there.
You can also export your activity to Strava if you use a Garmin or another app like Runtastic.

To use it you should use something that exports your tracked activities in gpx.
You don't necessarily need a smartphone since you only need something that exports your activites as gpx files. Then just upload it to Strava.

Don't think so, too. Though you can find a good Garmin Forerunner at less than 100$

Grats for getting up it with a long ride thrown in too, very nice!
