Awesome, he's had an awful time of it the last couple of years, so I'm really pleased for him.

Surprised to see the way, Sagan was just blown today. He never seems to win important races. Was similarly blown in Amstel, La Flech Wallone, Tour of Flanders. He seems to choke under pressure. He will have to get his act together. And try to win some 1 day races.

Good result for Gesink, finally.

Just for good measure he leaned on Sagan at the sart of the sprint for prime position too Grin

On another note if Van Avermaet hadn't gone right across the road shadowing/avoiding Sagan as he blew he might have been a bit closer but nothing stopping Gesink there...A...maz...ing

Van Avermaet would've been 2nd if he hadn't chose Sagan wheel for sure, he was closing in on Vichot. But losing terrain on Gesink tho  wtf

still amazing to see.

in 20 years next generation will be baffled to read that in one race, Gesink outsprinted a field of punchers, the green jersey winner and dropped 3 TDF winners (Evans, Contador, FRoome) to win Quebec

One of the most amazing performances this year, but unfortunately nobody will give a fuck in 5 years of time.

Time for minor riders to score lots of points. Yes, it's that time of the year again. Wink
Tour of China I, Stage 1: Xi'an - Xi'an (96.9 km) (2.1)

Edit: Though it's a good result for 20-year old Biedermann.

It makes sense for Gesink to focus on classics instead as it doesn't seem realistic he'll ever ride a big stage race withou at least one day with accidents.

And the Tour of China started already yesterday with a prologue, that doesn't count in the GC!? Silly Chinese...

Yes, the prologue doesn't count. It was won by Schumacher BTW.

It was. Does anyone have the slightest idea as to why they choose to have a prologue that doesn't count?

Prologue doesn't count? Ohhhhkay then that makes sense.
Yeah it was good to see Gesink get a result and hopefully with Mollema showing GT potential Belkin allow him to aim at the one day races and small tours

Eh, uh, he's won GW which is a way bigger race than this one.

It's stupid the decision of not include the prologue in the GC btw. Especially for me, since Silvestre and Gonçalves got 2nd and 3rd.

Very close sprint in Leuven apparently. Shame for Stuyven, so close in his home-race..
