Yep, another team that can just piss off. If the Danish federation have stopped them, then good on them.

The way DCU (Danish Cycling Federation) pretty much forced their hand is disgusting.
They've left them out of Post Danmark Rundt two years running with pretty much no sporting reasons. Well they say they didn't do well enough in the selection races, but there are no clear guidelines, and honestly looking at Christina Watches results compared to other danish Continental teams there's abselutely no reason why they're left out.
DCU has also adviced young riders no to join the team, and what can you really do then if you can't get any new riders because your federation has a vendetta against you.
It's all fine we hate Christina Watches because they hire ex-dopers, but a cycling federation has to be professional, the riders have been cleared - you can't treat the differently (Just make livetime bans for doping offenses, it would be so much better). It might also just be Jesper Worre's (Director of DCU, also tested positive for doping) personal hatred of Michael Rasmussen. |

What the fuck are you talking about? It's just not professional, you can't have a federation hindering teams, doing what they can to close them with no trial? They have done their time, if we don't have lifetime bans you can't do anything about a team full of ex-dopers. |

? It's a serious attempt, and i expect him to go further than Voigt really. I think, that while a good chance for himself, a large part of this attempt is about gathering data for Cancellara's attempt in the future

Anyway, it will be exciting, as it will be very close, Voigt's record was expected, now I don't know what to expect, but I think he will succeed.
Spoiler Yes, , what's wrong with this?

Brändle beat the record. 51.852 km vs Voigt's 51.115.
Clever move to give it a go before a stronger rider puts it a bit harder to reach

It's always fun to see records being broken, but I do wish Voigt had held it a little longer.
There's a fine line between "psychotherapist" and "psycho the rapist"

Look Christina, your watches are great but... er.... well, have a snickers, you know how you act when you're hungry.
It really doesn't matter what you think about those teams. The thing is they made it quite clear they weren't going to give the singlest fuck to the doping past of their riders. That is more than enough reason for any sponsor to get away from them. It's just how the system works.

Which Races was changed to other classes, thanks ?
Trofeo Laigueglia, Vuelta a Burgos and Dubai Tour that I remember, but I'm sure I'm missing somnething, they will all turn into .HC.
I'd like to add Sparkassen Münsterland Giro to that list.
Also: congrats to Brändle for beating the record, but it's a pity Voigte didn't hold it longer.

Perhaps he would have held it longer if he didn't make basic mistakes in his attept.
Brandle with a strong benchmark then, better than i thought he would manage. Next record will be 52.1-52.3km and the Cancellaras/Martins/Wiggins will push it through the 53km barrier

Nothing is better indicator of the fact that riders are still heavy doping, then hour records being beaten...

I don't have much insight into this, but from what I understand the aerodynamic advantages these guys have compared to the previous records make it actually predictable and acceptable.
With this I'm not implying that they are clean. But then I'm not sure many of the previous record holders were...

If anyone would be able to give the names mentioned in the full article, which I can't reach due to not being subscripted, it would be very interesting to see which cyclists are mentioned.

I am not an expert on aerodynamics, but is science so much advanced compared to 2005 (when Sosenka doped to eyeballs set it) to justify beating the record by 2kms?
I dont believe it at all...

IIRC in 2005 riders had to use the same equipment as used by Merckx in 1972. With the modern bikes Boardman set a record of over 56kph.
