2037
Finally surpassed
Three great GC-riders all retired this year, Boris Ralevic of Serbia and Santiago Pajuelo and Gonzalo Soto of Colombia. One of which made his final year a memorable one.
Early on Spain got off to a great start with Bechara bringing home the bacon in both Tour Down Under, Paris-Nice and Vulta Catalunya. With the rest of the races being won by familiar names such as Kaminski, Barros and Dologodin, there was little left for others, but Aleksei Tsulukidze got his first major win by beating van Leeuwen. All in all, Russia had a pretty good spring season with podium finishes in both Amstel and La Fleche Wallonie.
Gonzalo Soto has carried on the Colombian GT-legacy and did not disappoint in his last competitive season. After showing consistent form through the three weeks, he eventually beat Nagy by just over 3 minutes. This win was Colombia's 10th in the Giro. Ralevic, however, wasn't so lucky in his last ever TdF. The Serbian star went down in a crash in the first stage and had to withdraw from the race.
Despite this, the 2037 Tour de France is one for the record books. For the first time since Bernard Hinault in 1985, a Frenchman managed to win the biggest race of them all! The 52-year wait was over as Arthur Josse crossed the line in Paris wearing yellow. This was only Frances second GT-win, meaning they take a step up in the ranks and leave Argentina and Hungary behind, in order to join greats such as Australia.
The top two from the Tour changed places in the Vuelta with Josse coming close to making it a fantastic double, but Bechara was too strong and topped of a fantastic season. His form carried on to the World Championship where he got his third consecutive podium. Barros was able to make it back-to-back WC-wins with Kaminski finishing 2nd, meaning we got an identical podium to what we saw last year.

Glad you liked it, because this seems to be the end of the story. I can't for the life of my get past 31.12.2037, just like last time.
I've tried going two weeks back and then progressing, but the result is just the same. I either get a runtime error or it just simply shuts down.
It seems as though no edition of the game can get to 2038. Perhaps Cyanide never imagined anyone sticking with it for that long.

Maybe in 2038 will start the new era of cycling - on the hovercycles.
Die hard fan of Tom Boonen and Quickstep since 2004.

Cyanide obviously expected us all to get bored before 2037 |

I'm sad to see the story end, I really liked this edition. I also didn't imagine it ending now since it didn't show any signs of faultering earlier.
Well, it was a good run, but now I can get back to an actual career.

Very sad to have a story, especially one like this end from technical failure.
Damn. It was great man.

The game broke because a Frenchman won the tour. |

Thanks for the support throughout this story, it's been fun!
Now, since I've put too much time and effort into this, I don't want it to just end all of a sudden. I'm currently writing down some of the palmares of the major riders as sort of a recap.
Given time, I will also be posting the list of the best riders from eah major country, aswell as anyother you might ask for. The same goes for races.
I will basicly be spending the next week or so giving you every stat known to the game.
By the way, of all the seasons, which one was the best, do you think?
PS: Make that "weeks", since I might have biten over more than I can chew.

The plan is to make a summary of major riders' palmares in order to have people "vote" on who the best rider has been But ofcourse you can just have a look back at the updates
