Yeah lets give Gesink 78 MO and 79, 80, 81 and 82 to everyone better placed than him at Giro and on Vuelta last Year. Funny that guys with 77 (Uran and Santambrogio) and even guys with 75 are kicking his Ass in the Mountains
It's not like Uran wouldn't be highered up if he maintains this result. And there's something called peaks too(for Santa, it's the Giro, he's Italian, makes sense that he peaks)
Are you trying to say that Gesink is doing rather bad here because he isn't peaking?
Nope, I'm not. Gesink is being rubbish. What I was trying to say is that Gesink has Tour as GT goal as well, Santa only Giro. (Wasn't trying to make a comparision here, but at least Santa shouldn't be way higher than Gesink just because of those few mountain stages) But again, not wanting to discuss this, and I've got the same opinion as you guys, I agree that he should be lowered.

@Jesleyh Nah we are hopeless. U keep defending Gesink on every negative comment about him and i cant control my frustration everytime i look at his stats and how he has been performing all these 2 years. (BTW if u give Gesink 78 then u have to edit the DB for A LOT of riders, like Quintana who has 78 MO but could do circles arround him in a Mountain). I say 77 max.
So Santa is performing well beacuse he is peaking for the Giro and Gesink isnt doing the same??? Every time Gesink fails to deliver its the same lame excuse from his fanboys: He wasnt peaking for that race.
And about the cold weathers performance that doesnt explain why he couldnt deliver this year at Vuelta Ciclista a Murcia, Volta Ciclista a Catalunya or Vuelta a Andalucia Ruta Ciclista Del Sol. Those were Tours in Spain with good weather conditions and he was beaten by other riders in paper weaker than him. I think after his operation he might have pain while climbing or his bones arent strong enough anymore.

Disagree. I came to the point that I finally said that he should be lowered, and it's still not correct?
And I don't know what happened in Spain. I really don't know.
And btw, he did deliver a bit in Murcia(4th).
I'm not using form as excuse for every Gesink fail, most of the time, it's bad luck/crashes
And I'm not a Gesink fan.
At last, I indeed think we're hopeless

1 You are talking about PCM stats in a giro thread
2 We are talking about gesink here guys , stop it before ruben will see this and make his day
3 Santa and Gesink are 2 different type of climbers

Not sure if you already heard it, I'm already called Ruben nr. 2. Though I don't even like Gesink.
And yes, lets move it to the stats discussion thread. Or better, lets not move it anywhere and shut up about it

You talk like Gesink is 36... Our you think he is early blossom type
Yes he got bad day..thanks to weather. also Ullrich had that day once. Hesjedal and Wiggo completely out of tour.
Gesink at least fighting..todays mechanical was just a...bitch.
And like man says..there is only one ruben (he can be just...amazing..)

Caruso and Di Luca clearly understand that getting some freedom won't be possible when they're inside the top 20 so both lost 17 minutes today

Exactly who is Lampre riding for? From what I've seen, Niemiec looks quite good.
There's a fine line between "psychotherapist" and "psycho the rapist"

Looks to me like Scarponi is still their main guy, but Niemiec has a much more free role than usual.
They probably wouldn't mind having both in the top 10 at the end of the race, but I'm almost sure that they'd sacrifice Niemiec if Scarponi has a chance to get up on the podium.

I suppose the management wants Niemic to go for his own as he will probably stay with them as Scarponi has to leave. They are in desperate need of points and probably are happier with two in top 5 then one guy on the podium and the other 15th.
Apperantly we don't agree pelli

You have a good point there, Spilak. Didn't really consider the fact that Scarponi might be leaving.
On the other hand, I get the feeling that they prefer to see an Italian doing well. Might just be because there has been so much talk about Sky preferring Wiggins over Froome because he's more of a "real" Brit.

Why don't we make a special Gesink-thread so can end this endless discussion?
Just like we did with the Sky-doping thread.

Might have been because of his crash.
Trofimov and Kiserlovski lost time aswell. Yup, the two guys whose team was working at the front
