I'm still looking for a U23 riders as well, than I can't have anymore custom riders (I would be the first of the CT to max out the custom riders)

he's a GT candidate, and he goes CT
almost forcing every CT team to abandon GC expectations.

exactly.. IMO the custom riders add very little to the game, I know a lot of people would disagree and like the idea, but they take a lot of teh realism out of this for me. Riders like this don't just show up in the cycling world aged 32 having never been spotted, unless they decided to go pro and started doping.
At least for me, the game would be best without them, or at least limited to under 22 years old, because at least that way, even if everyone of us could make a rider who would end up being the best the world had ever seen (lets face it, most of the custom riders are exactly that) but at least they'd develop, rather than just taking over teh peloton in a really unrealisitc sector of the game

you do put some valid statements, (the 32 old rookie) but it's too late to change anything. maybe if the riders stat where like in PCMCL where the custom riders where domination but only because every real rider got -7 in all there stats.

Although it's true there are no WT GC candidates on Continental 2012 teams it is also true that at least 4 CT riders (on reality) have been chosen on the first 2 drafts (just for WT teams), and these 4 came from only 2 teams: Argos Shimano with Kittel and Degenkolb and Europcar with Voeckler and Rolland. So some of the best riders can be on Continental teams.
Remember Geox team on 2011 with Menchov and Sastre? Of course their team would make them compete on WT races and not on GC races for CT teams. Spoiler And i won't mention Katusha and their relegation this year
I get Baggie's point about custom riders. But that would be equally valid for both WT and CT teams. If you have a lot of good double leaders from round 1 and 2 and then you sign a great 33 year rider it wouldn't be so realistic.
Maybe if we added the salary and put a limit on it (like on NBA) then it would be fair and realistic. |

You mention Sastre and Menchov, I'll grant they were good, same with Katusha (who more fit your point) but even then, this guy could win the TdF broadly no sweat, he's surely too good for a CT team...

I agree, custom ridders should either be limited to u23 or out of the game, since it is very unrealistic to see a 30 year old rider come onto the scene out of nowhere and being able to dominate GCs and other stages

Either limit it to u23 or similar or avg rating of <75 or similar - otherwise these custom riders are going to dominate especially in CT. Some of these guys are Contador-esque!

Dont see why them being a rookie is a problem. Yes its not realistic... thats why this is a FANTASY game
The rules work perfectly, its just how people apply them.
All this was known before the game opened, so then was the time to complain. Too late to change anything now.
What will happen though is that those riders are very very unlikely to improve, and will start to decrease in 1-2seasons (rapidly)
There will be more of a 'budget' in effect when we get to contracts at the end of the season.
Treat this as a Beta, as many of these aspects are new and untested. Had to try things to see if they worked.
We will run a season, make some changes, and continue.
I doubt the Man-Game was perfect when it first started. Hell, its still not perfect now.

Thats true, hopefully things will gain more realism as we go along, and sorry if i came across too strongly against earlier, it was just seeing Zoltan made me take a step backwarsd and have i was feeling pretty negativ about contadors in the CT

I agree with some points though
Like creating a rider, then only letting him go to a CT team because you can't sign him yourself (yes jax i'm looking at you) is not good (but is legal).
Also it may not work well with the larger management game part as well. If not then they may disappear at the end of the season.
Also i'm looking at Globant. Signed a couple of leaders from custom riders, and contador. Does kind of screw things for some people, but its just part of the challenge. Not everyone can be Sky, someone has to be Andalucia.

@TMM
Well, naturally not everybody can be Sky, but i think that the custom rider over 30-31 could loose a point every stats. So jaxika's one would be in a decrease phase and would be a bit more realistic IMO. Jakab ould have 78-79 in MO and TT...
Anyway i think that (maybe not in this start of season) we need a budget especially for renew the contracts. In this way the contracts renewal would imply a strategy as you won't be able to renew with all riders... |

That way a 28-29 aged rider will be near the same stats... |
