Stage 20 Vuelta a España
And the final mountain stage is here, with three 1st category and one 2nd category climbs before the famous Bola del Mundo. With Contador more than winner, there are some prizes left to be disputed. The stage, the points, and maybe the mountains jersey.
And today's first picture comes from the break with Rojas getting the 4 points. Moreno and Agostinho are also there but the peloton is controlling the gap which is of 1'23.
Before the end of second 1st category climb the break is caught.
And Rojas wins again the points with 26 km to go.
With 18 km to go and after several riders launched their attacks, it's time to another show from Contador.
After the test Contador did, it was Sanchéz who attacked, with only Cobo and Quintana following. Contador soon joined them...but just to leave them behind.
Rodriguez and Antón also come with a fast pace and leave the trio behind.
At the end no surprise. Bad news to Rojas. Quintana and Cobo were 4th and 6th.
Agostinho paid for his early attacks. Trying to win a stage costed him not only his 5th place but also his place on top 10!

At the moment it's hard to say, i hope he can. In some days i'll start the second season and then i will know how he develop. I gave him a lot of potential and a late declining age, so he's just at the start. |

It will be hard on the last stage with Cav, Greipel and Degenkolb (all have won stages) and other good sprinters like Goss.
Rojas needs to get both intermediate sprints and finish 3rd to equal Contador. |

Looks like Contador is going to stop any chance of Rojas claiming the Points jersey |

Stage 21 Vuelta a España
And La Vuelta arrives to Madrid. Just 96 km where Rojas will try to reconquer the points classification.
And Cavendish sprints to get the first place on the first intermediate sprint. Rojas only gets 2 points and he is now 23 behind contador.
And the same story on the second intermediate sprint. Cav stills 2 more points from Rojas. 21 points to Contador now, and as the 2nd place on the stage just gives 20 points he's gonna have to win it to get the green jersey.
With 2.5 km to go Movistar train is well formed but Argos and Lotto are near...
...and Degenkolb wins the sprint, with Greipel second and Rojas third. The team gave everything, a great work from his companions was not enough for Rojas to get the green jersey.

World Championships Time Trial
With Cancellara, Martin and Wiggins out of form, Contador was the main candidate to win the race.
Surprisingly a russian guy did a great time and no one managed to do best, not even Contador who did 2nd place. Ignatiev is the new TT World Champion!
While Agostinho is on the portuguese team for the road race, Nélson Oliveira did a very decent 13th place.

While the virtual Agostinho is preparing himself to his first World Champs, let's take a look at an interview with Marco Chagas, 5 time winner of Volta a Portugal, nowadays a cycling commentator on portuguese tv. (free translation)
And Joaquim Agostinho, how was he?
Ah, this guy wasn't normal, he was just outstanding. We are common people, some of us have some talent, but he was THE outstanding, may i say it, i've deal with him, we were room mates. And look, i got him on his way to 40s! He just started to race at 25, imagine if he had training since his youth. Oh, he made two third places on Tour, but he would have won it many times.
Tell us a story.
I'll tell you two. The first one is a bit peculiar... Do you now he used to do diving? In one training camp we did in Cote D Azur he took the spearfishing equipment. One day he dresses it, took his glasses, his breather and his gun and went to dive. I was at the beach staring. Note that he had no oxygen canister. He dived, came at the top, dived again and disappeared. Minutes! Dunno, minutes! I'm there in panic and the guy.. nothing! I was terrified! Minutes! Then there appeared, I called him and he said: "What? Everything normal!"Joaquim Agostinho had a rib cage with twice the width of mine. Then he told me that he was accustomed to do that, because in Africa, in Mozambique, he used to dive to grab the fish to eat with the guys out there. You know, they threw a grenade into the water, it exploded, then he went to the water to get the fish.
And another story: the Volta ao Algarve, in 1984, the day before the fall that would be fatal, we made the connection between the hotel and the stage together. Along the way he told us he did not think he'd make a great result in the time trial. "You're crazy!" We all answered him. Look, he was 41 years old! But he gave a minute to everyone! He gave me a minute and I thought i knew something about time trials! And then he died in yellow.
