The NRS Story was a great read indeed, maybe you should revive it |

Kankovsky finally with a win in usual Asia autumn races, where Dukla is getting some win every year.

Budget back on winning mode. Seems they went for Kerrison's final leadout this time, since Kerrison suffered form an illness already yesterday. Nice win for Witmitz anyway.

Today's stage was won by van Diemen, riding for the Dutch national team. Never heard of him before but he turns out to be fast, beating yesterday's winner Witmiz and some known sprinters like Kankovsky.

No idea about him either, never really had mentionable results before this stage-race.

"I’m a member of a club team [Swabo Cyclingteam] and I hope this victory will help me get a start with a continental team next year.”
Being an Elite rider and no longer an under-23, Van Diemen wasn’t authorized to take part in the Tour of Taihu Lake as a trainee for the Parkhotel Valkenburg squad, so the team directed by Jan Tabak was eventually renamed the Dutch national team. Van Diemen said he hasn’t signed a contract yet but he’s expected to join Parkhotel Valkenburg in 2015.
Witmitz though with another fine result after his captain Kerrison crashed 250m to the line.

This Kerrison reminds me of another American sprinter, didn't he fall yesterday as well?

Nope. Felt just sick, iirc That said, he actually might have fell on his first stage, which he won afterwards though. Yap, he did 40km before finish.

Not that we should see everybody guilty from the gun, but cyclist looking at least for a continental team for next year, winning the sprint against some established riders in late season Asian race is not something that fills me with trust.

Here's a nice interview with the man himself.

Traditional Dutch expectations, a win on CT level and immediatly thinks they are able to compete in european CT races
*a serious reaction to a sarcastic comment, I should be shot on sight* |
