 VOLKSWAGEN SEA OTTER CLASSIC
Stage 1 – Laguna Seca Circuit Stage 1 – 59.7km
Three riders make up the first attack of the day, they are Eldridge/Team Novo Nordisk, Aiken/Bear Development and Hawkins/Sigma Sport
Eldridge is still at the front of the race but he now has two different riders for company, Oronte/Jelly Belly and Grivell-Mellor/Rapha Condor
Eldridge has suffered a puncture and that leaves just the two at the front
Rabou/Competitive Cyclist, Anthony/Team Optum and Mutsumine/Bridgestone Anchor have joined the Novo Nordisk rider and are all trying to close the gap to the front duo
Anthony is clear on his own and heading towards the finish
Van Garderen and Dombrowski both Team Novo Nordisk have managed to get across to him and surely are favourites to get the win
Van Garderen attacks as we reach the flame rouge
And he gets the win in fine style and will be the first wearer of the Leaders jersey tomorrow

We bossed this race from the beginning until the end and just failed to land a clean sweep of the Classifications by missing out on the Mountains jersey.
