Let's start with stating the obvious, the 59'ers left 100 points on the table here. That being said, Cunego was far from alone. None of us drafted a remarkable Lazkano so Powless was actually the best scorer here. After that Philipsen was missing on the startlists as well.
But there's more, Boivin in 9th and Trentin at 17th were missed by the Bombers, so it's actually the W scoring the best today. Also missed were Wright at 19, and assist points for Honore.
Still, the 59'ers are the first team that break the 1000 point barrier. The Red Lanterns and Paladins each win a spot, now it's mostly waiting to see who has starters in the other races.
Block 7 preview coming tomorrow, as it's due sunday.
Changed my sig, this was getting absurd.

I went through rider by rider to see their upcoming schedule on PCS, could have sworn neither Boivin nor Trentin had it listed two days ago. Nothing I can really do.
RIP Exxon Duke, David Veilleux, Double Feature, and Monster Energy

Well, if Van Aert can't gift the win to Laporte, then the peloton does it
Nobody seems to be allowed to beat the Jumbos right now, definitely another strong performance.
Definitely not happy with my team, once again. Looks like I did an awful draft. De Lie so far clearly isn't worth his #2 draft position, but at least he was my only rider scoring today - and therefore in this block.
Ewan is a joke for R2, don't know what happened to him. Page and Walscheid have been no-shows all season long, complete fails. Ganna and Welsford are useful in some races, but apparently this wasn't one for them. Van Lerberghe was just signed for some assist points or lower Top20's anyway, and Bissegger's spring season might well be over as he was delivered to the hospital after his crash...
Doesn't look like I'm too lucky in this game, but I guess others are just better at estimating a rider's potential. Congrats to those who did well!

Stuyven 2 mechanicals in the final, Sheffield crashed, Wellens with an epic chasse patate, wasn't my day I guess. My only hope is Pidcock was hiding for Tour of Flanders, but yeah, not looking too good at this point. The next block is so important, but it's hard to imagine a scenario where we outscore the big 3.

Very unfortunate with Laporte. I was more lucky with the group being caught in the end and Honoré only finishing 22nd.
I'm wondering, will I get assist points with Bettiol? After all he is on the official result sheet with a DNS.
For the other races of the block I actually have a decent lineup I think with Menten racing in Limburg and Ulissi, Chaves and Kron at GP Indurain. |

I gave you the points because manually checking the DNS would make things much more complicated for me.

The Holy Week
2/04/2023 Ronde van Vlaanderen M
5/04/2023 Scheldeprijs CT+
9/04/2023 Paris - Roubaix M
11/04/2023 Paris - Camenbert CT2
What's that you say? You're in need of some big points to turn this game around? Well, do I have some good news for you, the biggest scoring block in the history of this game is coming up!
Although I'm not entirely happy with it, the Ronde and Roubaix are in the same block this year, it's hard to avoid this with only Scheldeprijs in between. This also means this is the most stretched out block, lasting over a week.
But enough negativity, we have two epic races coming up, with the world championship for sprinters in between. Also some random French race at the end. But Ronde! And Roubaix!
Startlists are ok for the Belgian races, the French races need some work. Still a few days though, as I need your startlists sunday at 10:00 am CET.

Indeed, broken wrist. Guess I should take another country next time, with one Swiss not doing classics and the other one being injured ^^

GANNA Filippo
VAN LERBERGHE Bert
WELSFORD Sam
WALSCHEID Max
WELTEN Bram
Only 7 starters left, after Bissegger's crash... Getting all those puncheurs for just one or two blocks wasn't that smart I guess ^^
And yeah, hoping Higuita won't win GP Indurain today after his last-minute decision to start there :S

59ers Block 7
LAPORTE Christophe
MOHORIC Matej
DEGENKOLB John
TEUNS Dylan
LOUVEL Matis
ZINGLE Axel
VAN GESTEL Dries
NARVAEZ Jhonatan
12 starters across the races. I could definetely see Aniolkowski do well in the Scheldeprijs or even Sarreau in Paris-Camembert, but have to go for the big points in Ronde and PR I think. Pretty solid lineup imo, we'll see how it works out.

WAERENSKJOLD Soren
PEDERSEN Mads

VANMARCKE Sep
DEMARE Arnaud
POLITT NILS

Probably a sign of the issues with my team that we only 6 starters this week.

Well at least Higuita didn't win
Ranking update will come somewhere next week, can't confirm when yet.

COSNEFROY Benoît
VAN BAARLE Dylan
POGAÄŒAR Tadej
VERNON Ethan
MOZZATO Luca
HONORÉ Mikkel Frølich
PASQUALON Andrea
MENTEN Milan
Bettiol and van Baarle out for tomorrow sucks for my team. I hope van Baarle will be fit for Roubaix, else Pasqualon would probably be my only starter there.. |
