Only three games this month, and my 19th birthday! I'm starting to feel old.
Match Day #16 vs. Northwood (6-5-5) We have 25 points in our last 10 games. I'd say that's pretty good.
Spoiler Witham 3, Northwood 2
Summary: Witham scored, Northwood answered. Until, Luke Mallett found the side netting on a perfect strike in the 67th minute.
Rating: 8.2 - Everyone remembers the finish, no one remembers the pass — except coaches and your teammates. Yep, that's my pass that picks out Mallett on the other side of the field. I'm proud of that one.
Player of Game: Ryan Charles, Witham (8.4)
Match Day #17 at Ware (5-9-3) Ware has won two out its last eight league games.
Spoiler Witham 2, Ware 1
Summary: Rocking the rare secondary blue jerseys, Daniel Akindayini puts the team on his back with a brace before fracturing his skill on a brutal header attempt. I nearly threw up. They rushed him to the hospital fearing the worst.
He was in a coma for three days before regaining consciousness. The doctor has ruled him out for the rest of the season, if he even wants to play football ever again.
Akindayini was leading the league with 12 goals in 17 games.
If this is the end of Akindayini's short-lived career, then he leaves the pitch scoring two great goals.
Rating: 6.9 - Everyone remembers the guy that scores two goals and get his head smashed in, no one remembers me turning the game around with a counter attack breakaway assist to even the game at 1-1. Okay, okay. I'm just joking, I really hope Akindayini can overcome this. He is a great teammate and friend.
Player of Game: Daniel Akindayini, Witham (9.0)
Match Day #18 vs. Aveley (4-5-8) Who is going to emerge as our striker with Akindayini out?
Spoiler Witham 0, Aveley 0
Summary: Um. Yeah. Akindayini, we miss you.
Rating: 6.3 - Ugly. I'm embarrassed.
Player of Game: Romoney Crichlow-Noble, Witham (7.0)

Spoiler - Each member gets 5.0 points to spread however they like over the 36 attributes listed above. One post per member.
- Stats work on a decimal system starting at 1.0.
- Stats are bumped up in FM when they hit that number, ex. 2.9 = 2 in-game, and 13.4 = 13 stat in-game.
- The decimal numbers will remain hidden.
- There is a threshold for each stat when more points are needed to increase that stat. It's start off on a 1-to-1 scale where 1 point equals 1 stat upgrade. However, the scales get exponentially further and further apart the closer that stat gets to the maximum of 20. The increasing scale will also remain a mystery and is different from the cycling progression scale.
-Comment below to provide stat upgrades.
Agent?: Marcus Diamond decided to hold off on getting an agent. Only time will tell if this was a good or bad decision.
Target Man: Witham coach Jason Maguire approached Marcus Diamond after everyone cleared out of the locker room in the draw to Aveley.
"Kid, we are in a rough spot with Daniel going down. I've seen what you can do on the ball and we sucked tonight. If you want another crack at being a striker again, then just say it. I'll happily put you up top after that rubbish performance by Elliot."
Should Marcus take coach Maguire up on his offer or stay in the midfield?

What a ball to assist Mallett Real shame about his temmate Akindayini, good he's out of his coma. Get well soon Danny!
Ideally, Marcus'd stay in the midfield - he's flourishing there. But if the squad needs it and the manager wants it, then he can fill in for a game and see how it goes. Team is the most important thing.

+ 5 passing
I agree with Jandal; Best for Marcus to stay in midfield, but if the team and coach need to test him as a striker, then that’s What he should do. |

He should stay in midfield, since he has been playing the best football there.

Stay in midfield, he's developed a good passing game to allow him to get these key passes and assists and going up top would rob the team of the supply to the striker. And no matter how good he would be up front he isn't going to score if there is no killer passes being played through to him.
+5 Concentration, Useful for winning the ball back and hopefully it will help him track teammates runs better to play similar balls to the assist against Northwood or help him recognise when play is developing and he needs to get in a certain position for a pull back or clearance.

Stay in the midfield no reason to switch it up now.

The new season is almost upon us. My second professional season in the lower-tier Continental Tour with JLT Condor. The team underwent some changes in the offseason and I think we are poised for a big season.
I'm looking to race more than 32 days this season, but I need to stay healthy in order to do that. Easier said than done. Let's meet the team shall we.
August Jensen |
Marcus Diamond |
Chris Opie |
I'm the youngest guy on the team and there are a lot of new faces. Yet, I've proved last season that I'm capable of being a team leader. The team is going to lean on me being the best climber and cobbler. Quite a weird combination, but the best way to make a name for yourself is by being unique.
I'm fairly certain my results in Year 1 were good enough to warrant a contract for 2020, but JLT Condor likes waiting until the last minute to re-sign cyclists. And perhaps, I'm good enough to move up the ranks without the help of JLT Condor.
I probably shouldn't say that out loud, as the team is doing a bunch of team building activities this month to create some chemistry. I'd rather be doing a training ride, but I'm not the one in charge. Maybe one day...
Calendar: I'm sitting down with general manager John Herety in the coming days to hash out a calendar. He has given me a few options:
(1) Stay strictly European regional.
(2) Regional with some light travel.
(3) Regional with frequent overseas travel.
More travel would mean more race days and exposure, but it comes at the cost of missing more football games with Witham Town.

Option 2, don't want him to miss too many football games but the few extra away races should help him build exposure if he can do well in them.

Wow, Jensen is a great rider! But Marcus is better, looking forward to a big season from him!
Agree with what sammy said, option 2 for me!

I would rather like to let him stay in Europe because of his football career so Option 1. For his age he has good stats so he should develope his stats good enough with this way. |
