Not a great performance, but it is difficult to play football against a team that just wants to cheat rather than play football. 4 years ago we would have crumbled and lost that game so we are making some progress at least. We've reached our pre tournament goal so anything from now on will be a bonus. Although a disappointing performance against Sweden will still take the shine off the tournament. We need to attack Sweden and go out fighting if we do go out next rou d. Anyway, a win on penalties for the first time ever at the world Cup so at least that's one monkey of our backs.

England is the favorite to go to semi against Sweden IMO just look at players clubs. But England has far from impressed me, needed a penalty to score against Colombia, did not score against Belgium(yeah not "A-Team" but still) Panama and Tunisia is not really that good.
Even if Sweden may play booring, many name them as the "new greece" but in fact they have created more dangerous chances against Switerland and Mexico then than the opponents iirc.
Anyway will be fun to see all Quarterfinals.
My bet is.
Uruguay - France (If Cavani can play)
Brazil - Belgium (Can they get this starteam together?)
Sweden - England (draw, then anything can happen)
Russia - Croatia (It most end for Russia now, Sure?) |

I like to think all your predictions are pretty good!
- I back Uruguay if Cavani plays well
- Belgium to win a high scoring thriller
- England vs Sweden depends on the first goal I'd say
- Croatia could make the game look very easy or they could struggle, either way I back them to win it.

Really like Uruguay but think France might sneak a 1-0 win.
Belgium was my pick at the start to win it all think they'll beat Brazil .
Croatia to beat Russia .
Think England might sneak a win against Sweden will be tight .

Mixed emotions for me, i support Everton so wanted Pickford to shine and i am Welsh so wanted England to lose

But we clearly don't. The vast majority of the English public know that we have no real chance of winning the World Cup. You are confusing the typical English fan with the BRITISH tabloid media who will always build up the team so they can knock them down when we eventually do get knocked out, probably on penalties, at some point. Any game we play from now on in is 50/50.
You basically hate the English fans for supporting their team, which I seem to remember the Welsh fans doing, as well as a fair bit of gloating, at the Euros 2 years ago. Why is it OK for Wales to support the Wales team but the English fans are arrogant for supporting the England team and daring to hope that we might actually get to the Semi's or, even the final, after decades of underachievement?

That's true, but you could say that about any team. Germany fans were still gloating about there 7-1 win at the start of the tournament and then proceeded to go out in round 1.
I think that each game on our side of the draw is 50/50. Literally any team could be in the final.
Russia are the weakest team but have home advantage.
England prob have the best first 11 and the best single player in Harry Kane but will have most of the pressure.
Croatia have a solid spine but also have some average players in their first 11.
Sweden have no stand out player but are a very strong unit.
I think the overall winner will be whoever qualifies from the other side. I would say England have about a 30-35% chance of making the final. Croatia 30%, Sweden 25% and Russia whatevers left 10-15%.
