Imma just keep quiet and not call that squad uninspiring - after all, all I care about is the GC anyways!
But yeah, they sent their horses to the Giro and got somewhat burned and now Talansky isn't in, its pretty meh. |

I think we will have surprise this year and Nibali will complete Giro-TdF double. It means Froome, Quintana and Contador will all have to crash out. But with Nibali's luck its not all out of question.
Plus he was coming to form towards end of Giro. And all 2nd class GC contenders were no match when he went going. And with top 3 out and good moto pacing he can do it. |

But this time you would be correct in saying it
They can take some heart from the Giro with Dombrowski stepping up and showing some real positive signs and Moser was actually pretty good being very active over several days and snaring a couple of podium places, also in the end they did get a rider into the top 10 in the GC but it was a little underwhelming.
This Tour squad just looks grim with only Rolland and possibly Craddock a chance to do anything.

Very strong team. No puppies to keep happy in Paulinho and Jesus, probably the best team they could field. |

VALGREN
Valgren is super strong and is very likely to be Alberto most important helper of the rouleurs, indeed. Clearly the strongest at the Danish Nationals. |

It's the best they could field. Valgren and Gatto have been very good this season so they definitely deserve that tour slot. Hope Bertie will get some quality support by Kreuziger this time around again. Vamos Campeon!

What I am interested in, how $agan could help Bertie eventually later on. It's a big ask of the World Champion but $agan is possibly a true wildcard to play for Tinkoff. I remember well the echelon stage where he closed several splits for Bertie and was there when he really needed him.
In a recent coverage of NBC about the Tour, $agan also stated that he wants the yellow jersey, so eyes open for that to happen. With time bonuses, it's not impossible.

Need to get a little more specific. He most likely won't help him in the first week now that it is a more regular one compared to last year.
The only stages I could realistically see him help would be stages 15, 19 and 20. Especially 15 is interesting, but so is the false flat after Bisanne at stage 19 to Mont Blanc and the flat after Ramaz before Joux Plane at stage 20. But the most realistic scenario would be a daredevil descent and some hard pulling after Grand Colombier, the first of the 2. He actually did that in 2012. |

I havn't bothered to examine the route to be specific, I just hope there'll be some Bertie $agan lovefest at some point.
More importantly though is that Majka, Kreuziger and Kiserlovski are in good enough shape to actually support their leader for once in a GT.. every Sky bimbo seems to hang on for longer than they do. Kreuziger did a Top 5 ffs and now just drops at irrelevant times ffs.

Now, thats your problem. Bit of a freak over here.
Kreuziger could probably have podiumed in 2013, but that was an outlier. Never been a true climber, but he has been very decent this year. Majka? Will probably wheelsuck Alberto to Paris. |

What about year 2013, when he was actually better than Bertie, but was forced to drag him to 4th spot instead pursuing his own podium/4th spot?
Btw. Kreuziger looks to be in super shape in recent weeks, i think he can help a lot or/and puruse another own top10.

Out of the Jerkoff squad, Majka's the least of a teamplayer.
I can't see him grinding himself down for Contador.
Some alibi turns pulling Bertie but mostly wheelsucking some 2nd tier GC contender to get himself in the top 10 or 15. After all Tinkoff shuts down and he needs a new employer.
Shame that Bouhanni won't compete. Would've loved to see him and Cav go headbutt to headbutt in the sprints. |
