6. A boss, not an arrogant prick. 2 different things
He seems rather like that arrogant prick to me, he reminds me of another dickhead nicknamed "the boss".

I have the opposite impression of him. He seems very down to earth, and relaxed. Perhaps you dislike him because you doubt that he may or may not be clean ? |

when did a guy who crashed uphill on a mtf ever had any damage?
ee...Tony Martin 2015 TdF.
This is just stupid..what is your meaning? Without helmet you look cool?!
Why to risk..most of the body part's can take blows ..cracks etc. Yes you will get hurt. But good doctors can patch you.
Head injury is always most dangerous one..why risk? Very stupid..beside all kids will see idols without helmets and they also want to look cool..they bike handling is a little weaker believe me.

Slow crashes are often causing more injuries because the body falls at 90 degrees angle to the deck causing more collarbones/arms/wrists broken. That's just basic physics.
Adding to more uphill crashes this year. GVA San Sebastian |

Oh come on, throwing your helmet away on a MTF also brings me some good memories, no need to play the moral card all the time, if this is how he feels, thats just it. I thought it was cool as well and it made me relate further to the riders when not wearing helmets, thats for sure.
By the way, Tony's chrash has absolutely nothing to do with it, I dont remember they exact rules when you were allowed to throw it, but that wasnt a climv (more a sprint) that was even close to being hard enough to throw it, that was some high speed going on. |

Sure it's cool if the riders take the risk on a MTF, but if they want to do that do that, personally I wouldn't but to each his own, but there should be a straight up rule elsewhere. I wouldn't because I have made amateur mistakes going up steep hills and as Kirchen said, that can hurt, especially if you start sliding back down the way you came. Just me.
24/02/21 - kandesbunzler said “I don't drink famous people."
15/08/22 - SotD said "Your [jandal's] humour is overrated"
11/06/24 - knockout said "Winning is fine I guess. Truth be told this felt completely unimportant."

Great argument to the helmet-discussion(!)
I'm convinced now. |

The real question is whether they were wearing a helmet

A crash in the peloton, and both Tom Dumoulin and Fabio Aru are among those involved. Each man is quickly back on his bike, though Aru calls for assistance from the race doctor's car. |

No, but probably from a concussion, since he also hit the road with his head.

So this is where Frank Vandenbroucke went bananas in 1999. It should suit Dumoulin more then anyone in this peleton. He can finish off Aru today.
Changed my sig, this was getting absurd.

With the news of Aru crashing (so as Dumoulin) and going to the doctors car twice, I can't help having a voice inside my head that is kinda happy about it. I really don't want the battle to end that way, but I can't help it. Is it because Im Dutch, Aru has some ugly faces, Aru rides for Astana, or something else??

Yeah but what's the point of taking it off for the MTF finish if you are wearing it for the stage upto that point? I mean talk about a waste of time taking it off if it's already on

So true about that coming off at low speed can be bad, I've had falls at low and high speed and always the low speed ones that have caused the worst injuries. You mostly roll at high speed but at low speed you hit the ground hard, especially when going over the bars
