Purito's time was quicker than Piti's one on the Flèche. |

Everything going right for Froome. Maybe its just his TdF. He is in brilliant form. 20s in last 400m shows how much power he had left. Contador will try to get to podium I think. But I dont know if he can do any better. |

Much shorter and less tough race before the climb

Martin second overall for the third day in a row, with three different riders ahead of him.

Froome learned from last year tour mistakes and this year he's always in good position |

Nice performance by Gallopin; he's really in some great shape though he will have of course difficulties once we reach the high mountains. Still, I imagine this is the ardennes climb that suits him the least, so once again I can only express my hope that he'll become a major player in the Ardennes classics rather sooner than later.

Quintana and Nibali to some extent will be threats for Froome |

He definetely will. He should defeintely be one of the favs for Bretagne, maybe even in Le Havre as well. This first week suits him perfectly, hoping he takes the yellow at some point like last year.
Looking forward to see him in the mountains. I could imagine him trying to give it a go to on La Pierre, he could be decent there as well. |

Time will tell. But its naural that Contador isnt 100% yet after riding the giro. I think he will be in a week, but if that enough
, who knows. So many Things happend in TDF that after 3rd stage, noone can predict a thing.

Need to watch replay in order to say something about Contador's form but time loss is never good. Still, he rides himself into form in first week. Nothing to worry about just yet.
Nice to hear Purito winning, good ol' chap.
I would worry. He lost fricking 20 seconds the last 400 metres.
Nah, it's the Mur de Huy. Those 400 meters are not normal. Froome was really strong though, so I'd be more concerned about his form than about Bertie's atm.. but I'm neither.
Always funny to see the first white flags and capitulations after the first few days of racing at a Grand Tour, like Froome has already won this. Like Guido said: 3 weeks guys, 3 weeks!

What was up with Valv, any news on that front? I read that he lost contact on the forum but he got back and I saw him in the finale up to the Muur. Did he ride for Quintana then? Just not good enough for Tour this year?
I had hoped to see him further dominate the Muur, so that one day it'd be called Muur de Valv, the Great. Or Piti de Huy.

Bjarne Riis was in studio today, probably one of the most knowledgeable on Contador. He was kinda worried, as should you imo. Im not saying it is lost by any means at all, just stating that he didnt look good at all today and lost a relative extreme amount of time on half an kilometre. I know its Huy, and and know you, but I would be a bit worried after his display today coupled with Froomes beast-ascent.
On the other subject: Valv doesnt seem super interested to me, almost disinterested. Has lost all splits so far and wasnt good today. I had expected him to dominate the first week and devote himself to Quintana in the mountains, but hell probably play it a little more conservative and conserve his energy early on, peaking for the mountains. |

@Shonak I am probably too pessimistic and Contador might get onto his top in 2nd and 3rd week but I think it will be late as Froome will have good advantage |

Kind of annoying, Valverde was in perfect position, but swung off to the side to wait and pace Quintana up the climb. I feel like he would have grabbed 3rd or better today, if he hadn't done that.
Vuillermoz with a surprising result though, great for him!
