at least not many youngsters will not copy Froome riding style (as they did Pantani or do Contador style)..it is just not cool. |

Costa 4th on the GC.
I hate Nibbles now. Just peaking for one race. :/ |

Anyone know why Costa came here when he is guaranteed Suisse every year?

It has been going on for a while now. Not everyone does it.

Louis Meintjens, what a solid ride! Seeing Navarro and Zoidl, who are much more experience, go at it from afar, he just sat back and conserved his energy for the last climb.
Froome did what was expected of him, Poels and Kennaugh set it up beautifully. Valverde not looking good, but Im honestly glad he doesn't this early. Need to peak at the right time. Tejay again showing he has improved significantly on his climbing this year, too bad for him that the Tour is so TT-light.
Edit: And Intxausti! Kinda unreliable, but when he is at it, he is super strong in those week long races. Peraud and Mollema in trouble for TdF?

May I just quickly point out Emanuel Buchmann here.
Far from being as impressive as Meintjes of course, but he's riding his first WT stage race here, only turns 23 in November, was 7th in Avenir last year and finished 25th today next to Nibali.
That kind of result is consistent throughout Critérium International (18th), Trentino (20th) and Pra-Loup where he got 33rd.
He might never skyrocket, but the only reason this is not overly impressive for a neo-pro is the ridiculous results of Benoot etc. lately, so not his fault.

Yes you may, cio.
Spotted him as well, he's doing nicely
Don't think he's going to be your German GT contender though(he's from '92 after all), but who knows what could happen

great shoutout cio!
interesting that Eurosport didn´t mention him even once despite that he has ridden beneath Nibali for the last climb

Yea, I've seen his name in many results recently. Even last year in some CT races. Definitely under the radar.

They can't even pronounce Meintjes correctly, I would say you have way too high expectations

Apparently the reason Dan fell off was a flat tire at the bottom of the last climb.

Last stage of what have been a thrilling race today. (at least the last 3 stage have been very good - cements once again Dauphine as one of the best races on the calender)
Last climb not that hard, but hard enough to gain the time Froome needs. Sky pulls hard and wants to win the stage and get bonus secs, but Martin is out front and looks strong. |
