Also, it's amazing that two different riders (Bernard and Akdeniz) came up with exactly the same answer when being interviewed about their aim this year Grin

Bernard is clearly a clone of Akdeniz, making Schiltz the one true Luxembourger in the game Cool
Will I be banned for making Bernard beat Schiltz?PfftCool:lol:Banana

In his first professional Cylocross race of his career, Christian Schiltz finished a very encouraging 26th place. It was not a course that particularly suited him but he rode a consistent race, without accident, to finish just over 2 minutes behind the winner.

He relaxed in the company of friends and family post-race, many having made the short trip over to watch and provide encouragement. He made no comment to the Luxembourg media who were keen for a reaction after the childish comments made by his teammate post-race. Schiltz' teammate Bernard, who had a slow start to the race, apparently gloated to the press about beating his inexperienced team mate. The press were surprised at how poor a role model Bernard was being, and were left to speculate which of the two was actually 19 years old, and which was 25.

SN,if you are taking age into the consideration 13 years old or 20 years old(I don't know)Arda Akdeniz beated Schiltz and he was inexperienced as well.
Your logic fails:lol:Cool

Is commenting as yourself irl in the game thread allowed, like what The Schleck Fan did?
24/02/21 - kandesbunzler said “I don't drink famous people."
15/08/22 - SotD said "Your [jandal's] humour is overrated"
11/06/24 - knockout said "Winning is fine I guess. Truth be told this felt completely unimportant."

No, the Game thread is strictly for role-playing. I've already PMed him about it and he'll bring the post here Smile

If you want to make a 25 year old act like a little kid, and decided to give a young rider unrealistically high stats, then that's up to you, they're your characters Wink

I opted to take a more realistic approach with the initial stats for Schiltz. Don't fight back if you can't take the heat Wink

An example from RL:Mathieu Van Der Poel who is 19 years old is dominating the 2014-2015 CX season with Van Aert and Pauwels

It seems you don't understand the point of a role-playing game if you are trying to force an argument in the General thread as a reaction to my role-playing post.

Anyway, seems like I'll have a lot of fun with my posts if you keep this up Pfft, and that's the last I'll say on it in here.

Really great race report Ian! I was in suspense the whole way. And Sylvain came 3rd! Although I'm a little confused at how he got dropped on the technical section which he loves.

@TheSchleckFan; SportingNonsense does have a point there Pfft role-playing is role-playing Wink it'll be an interesting year with those two riders from Luxembourg. I have a feeling they won't stay in the same team next season!

@trekbmc: Sylvain definitely didn't drop behind because of his technical abilities. My best guess is because he took quite some race initiative during the race so it must've been a momentarily dip, or just general fatigue from the generally exhausting race. Both Cornelis and Gormley ride better through the sand so Sylvain probably wasted more energy keeping up on the dunes with them.

Anyway, that's all cyclo-cross and the reason I love it: every race is different. Even a sand expert can lose a race in the sand when the circumstances are right/wrong Wink

trekbmc
Yeah, ok, that makes sense. Sylvian, may also have to explain why he didn't drop back to help Jannik, but he had a reason.

Ian Butler
Yes, I think competing for the victory in the final round counts as a reason not to drop back Grin

trekbmc
Jannik did tell him to follow moves at the mid-way point and when you're in the winning move. Wink Now I have to work out weather or not he is competing in Ghent, the course really suits him, except for the cobblestones. Wink

Well that's up to you (well, him, well, you Pfft) but generally I can't see much harm in competing. It's still early in the season so it's not like he'll be dead Sunday when racing Saturday. You could even let him start and have him give 100% for a few laps and then take the rest as training or something. Those are things that happen in CX Smile

Anyway, more interesting posts pop up in the game thread. I'm still surprised at the popularity of this. Keep up the good work everyone!

trekbmc
I'll probably race, just thinking about it.

I'm pretty sure only two of the 5 members of the NamDeb team actually finished and one of those came last. Just wait for the real sand and no cobbles!

Yes their main problem were the cobblestones Wink

trekbmc
Hey, I'm just wondering, did van Vliet, Smart and some other rider, attack together or did they just move to the front?

Ian Butler
Right before the Cornelisduin, we have an attack! Sven Van Vliet, Nic Hashir and Philipp Smart take the lead.

These three riders attacked Smile
