When you watch a quiz show or something, do you google each question and then say you got all of the questions correct?
There's a fine line between "psychotherapist" and "psycho the rapist"

I thought that not using google to search for place names was a given? I mean, what's the point then?
It wasn't one of the rules. And I'm 100% sure that most others do it as well
It's a general rule of the game
General rule isn't '80% of the players do it'.
I mean, I can see from the challenge results that almost everyone who posted a challenge googled it. You can't 'guess' where a random USA village with 500 inhibitants which nobody have ever heard of is, and only miss by 1 km.
Point is clear

Where did you see that one? I certainly didn't do it, and I am quite sure those who posted their challenges followed their own rules + that general one. |

Well , Jesleyh , as others said, that's "General rule".

Example I mean was a city in Mexico(just remembered that it wasn't USA, but Mexico) with a sort of arch above the road with the city name.
Can't be bothered to search for it, sorry.
But there'll certainly be a few more examples and I'm sure a lot of guys searched as well.
Doesn't matter, sorry for breaking the rule

That was one of the most recent ones on page 13. The arch said: "Bienvenidos a Chahuites, Oaxaca". The rules were "no moving, only rotating and zooming in/out". So no time limit.
It was relatively simple: it was clearly Spanish (Bienvenidos), so Brazil was excluded, and the countryside clearly looked like it was not-European. As the rest of South-America isn't covered by Google Street View, only Mexico remained a possibility (also the name of the city Chahuites sounds rather Mexican). Then you search for the region Oaxaca. In Mexico, most of the regions have the same name as their capitals so you should see a big city named 'Oaxaca' relatively soon. Then you can find the city Chihuites quite easy, because you have no time limit. As it has a huge arch at the entrance of its city, it was very probable that the city wasn't very small. |

Tactic:
Spoiler Searching for nearby city name/board - 5-10 Secs. (Sometimes only able to recognise language)
Switching to the google maps tab and write the name - 10 secs.
Then try to zoom as close as possible to there with the remaining time, and then take a gamble
Worked at 3/5
Wait, you were doing this whole time? It has no sense to play the game that way. I use only head, so i am happy i still beat you on some.
Edit: just saw the latter discussion, sorry for pointing that out again. You cheat Jesleyh

Since this thread is dropping again, a new challenge
1minute for all or 20 seconds per pic. Move, zoom and rotate what you want, just no looking up on internet.

Last 2 ruined me but particularly the last one, where I dropped about 2000 points on you.

You won the challenge with 9571 points against 8939.
That went quite nicely. Missed the 4th one completely, but luckily you did too.

4th one was the key indeed, I at least got it in the right country so my guess was waaaaaaaay closer than yours.
Spoiler You should have watched the position of the sun, then you would have noticed that your guess couldn't be the right one |
