So Australia have sacked our national coach, Holger Osieck after two 6-0 losses in a row (Brazil and France). Good riddance I say. Watching the team play under him is just painful - kick and hope is about the only plan he has. Not that I think Australia is capable of much better than that, but still it would be nice to *try*.

Good ridance! It's about time. My dad used to be a commentator for SBS, and I'm glad he retired, because he'd probably be sued for causing extreme mental pain to Osieck if he was commentating .
I reckon atm that the All Whites couldactually beat Australia.
And australia vs France and vs Brazil. What did they expect? The likes of Ribery, Neymar and many others against archie thompson (whos he most would say).

Oh for sure I would have normally expected two losses. But two 6-0 losses? Australia is not a great nation when it comes to football, but it is better than that.

Yeah 12 goals conceded in two matches is far too many. They should be better than that but obviously not. Have they or does it look like they will qualify for Brazil 2014?
Ronalo and Pepe sent home because they can't play against Luxembourg.
To replace them, he called Bruma, a good call I'll say. But to replace Pepe he called Rolando, fuckin' Rolando. Where's Fonte Bento, where the fuck he is?

Don't worry, I'm coming through the ranks . You knew me when

Where the hell are all the belgians? I was expecting some fireworks by now
Hello
After 12 years of thinking we somehow would get to a big tournament. Losses against Armenia, Kazachstan, Azerbeidjan, telling ourselves halfway through the qualifiers 'mathematically it's still possible' finally we'll go to a tournament again.

I'm in shock, Wales actually won a football match
Can someone explain to me why Wales is so rubbish at an International level. They seem to actually have a halfway decent squad.
They can put a decent team when they want to, but the main problem is getting them all fit at the same time
Good news, we (Belgium) are playing you next! We will try to squash you like a little bug.
Obviously I meant good news for us, not for you
No seriously, It's fun to see Belgium doing well again after a dark patch. Hope they can survive group stage at the WC and we'll see how it goes.
Also, Lukaku for president.

Precisely. France's arch-enemy ? Let me think...
I could name any country that has a common border with France, plus a couple of others.
Really? I know about England and Germany, but Belgium and Switzerland? How?
Belgium ? In the 60's ans early 70's playing Belgium was the last thing the French hoped, and they'd get either a decent defeat, either a harsh beat up.
There you go : https://fr.wikipe...rontations
Switzerland not really, but we've met them several times his late decade (in qualifiers and tournaments, a bit like Ireland btw), and often struggled to get a result.
But it's ok, Luxembourg was never seen as an arch-enemy by any one.

I was talking about football terms... how we never get to beat them...? No matter how hard we try...?

Now hoping for England to get in the play offs too and draw Portugal. Couldn't pick a winner as they are both shite.
The FIFA would never let that happen. They are too scared to lose either Rooney or Ronaldo at the WC. So both would be seeded teams and will have to face the likes of Iceland or Romania.
Edit: Oh, and after the great showing of Plzeň's keeper in the Champions League, Slovakian goalkeepers keep showing their skills:

If that will be the case, then it will not be UEFA's fault, because the seeded teams will be decided by FIFA (or more precisely, the FIFA World Ranking of October).
Based on the September ranking, the following teams will be seeded & non-seeded:
Seeded:
Croatia
Portugal
Greece/Bosnia
Sweden
Non-Seeded:
France
Ukraine
Iceland/Slovenia
Romania/Turkey/Hungary
If England blows it and Ukraine wins the groupe, then England will be seeded and Sweden will not.

I know France is Brazil and Portugal's arch-enemy, but as issoisso said, that's a one-way rivalry.
France's arch-enemy are not Brazil or Portugal, but that'd rather be Germany and Italy. And with the Germans that's also a one-way rivalry, I doubt they see France as THE team that (almost) always beats them.
