Wow It seems you have such a great squad it's unbelievable!
Also, having Ciolek as a lead out seems like a waste lol

Ryant with great squad I will have to wait untill 2018, I'm affraid, as that's when I finally won't be affected by the wages bug, for now it's only very good squad for flat stages. And I guess Ciolek isn't very happy with his lead out role, and that's why he decides to win sometimes.
Yeah, Nunez did pretty good job and it's not only when it comes to the results. In 2 years he developed from FL 71, SP 75, ACC 77 to FL 74, SP 85, ACC 83.
Anyway, I took part in World Championships again, however no success there, but at least Kwiatkowski did much better than last year when he came 25th. This year he was 11th.
Michal Kwiatkowski during ITT World Championships.
Didn't have that much luck in road race as my best rider - Tomasz Marczynski finished 35th. I guess I would have to find some young talented rider and train him to win anything there.
There's only few races left before big season summary, including one of my sponsor's biggest objective - Paris - Tours.

Just finished my last race of the season, which was Tour de Vendee (1.HC). Nunez lost sprint to Kris Boeckmans and came 2nd while Ciolek was 4th. Did quite similar in Paris - Tours (1.HC), that was so important to my sponsor, this time losing to Manx Missile. On hills of Paris - Bourges (1.1) Nunez was 9th, but he managed to win Sparkassen Munsterland Giro (1.1).
Season summary coming soon.

5TH SEASON SUMMARY
This season was my first one uder new sponsor, with fair budget, and that was reflected in results. Just like my plan envisaged - I was promoted to Wolrd Tour. The other part of the plan is to be best team in the world, not next season (due to wages bug), but in 2018. But at least this season I will be able to do what the story's title says - start in Giro di Italia. Probably not gonna win it this year but I'm counting for top 10 with probably Pozzovivo, as I will keep Anton for Tour de France.
Pretty happy with this season's results (I guess I'm the only one, as my sponsors were bit upset with them) and even more happy with the fact that I finally established good team, however still far from being a dream team, as that will probably happen next season.
Ranking
I guess it won't be exaggeration if I say that I was above the competition this year. With great performance from Arnaud Demare in first half of the season (1125 points / 85 racing days), and equally good from Juan Jacob Nunez (783 points /49 days), little help from Krivenco, Ciolek and my time trialists I managed to win promotion with 2101 points lead, even despite the lack of climbers.
Sponsor confidence
That's the part that I don't really get. Last season I didn't fulfil any of Polkowice's goal, finished 6th in Continental ranking and they were pretty happy with the results. This season I managed to fulfil 1, finish top 10 in their most important race (they were looking for a win) and won promotion to World Tour with 3942 points and they are very upset with that. I guess that might have something to do with the fact that none of my results were actually recorded in "noteworthy results". I assume that's just another bug. Hope that had something to do with having co-sponsor and it will be fine with Coca-cola this season.
Finances
Balance: €406.118 ---> €1.561.588
Wages: €111.000 ---> €234.750
Difference: +€124.233 ---> €+149.591
Transfers
In: Anton, Barton, Fievet, Giner, Kennaugh, Matsigura, Mizia, Pozzovivo, Sterbal, Votava, Wieczorek
Out: Aliu, Besic, Contofalsky, Eichler, Grabsh, Kiendys, Navardauskas.

My guess is that because you have no riders that the Sponsors wants or is big enough reputation wise for the sponsors for example i'd assume that Mercedez would want German riders with at least international reputation and would want at least that kind of rider to be entered in there recommened races.
Same with Polkowise but probably polish and only national level.
I'd check the amount of USA riders Coca-cola want a 1 star i think it was which is probably about 10% of the team to be american which you can get in the next transfer window.
You should be ok with registartion as Anton is a Star reputation
Also rankings have nothing to do with confidence in my opinion it's all about the races you perform well in and how you do with sponsors goal recommened riders etc. |

I don't get the mood of sponsors too, results are so great, rly don't know what they want more... - maybe some German rider to win their goal races??
Could I request a screen of riders whirpool-author team? i would love to see how computer developed them (PM will be enough)

There's 3 factors affecting sponsor confidence: Results, Registered Riders and Squad. I would assume that last 2 are affected by your rider's nationality and reputation, and the only factor that I was complaining about was results, which isn't (or at least shouldn't) be affected by that. I can perfectly understand their dissatisfaction with not having enought riders of certain nationality, but result is result, and if you won the race, you won the race, if you got 3942 point, you got 3942 point (no matter how many German or Polish riders you have in your team) and that's the bit I don't understand.

In the real world you'd be right they wouldn't care as brand exposure would be great but PCM treats it so that all three are of equal value so no matter how great if you don't have a rider of great rep and right nationality your going to struggle with confidence and on the Mercedes results side you didn't complete there most important goals and that's the main results that count so that's why they were upset with that. Same with Polkowise. |

yep but sponsors are poor AI, and do not use logic
when i looked at my sposors they are unhappy with no succesful goals so far...
but strange is that one of my leaders is in registered riders as importance ++ twice, but he has not any record yet and in other hand, they are not even interested in second and third stage places i managed with other riders

Ok, as always I'm starting from presenting new shirts.
So for at least next 2 years my riders will be canned into that. I have to say I like it much more, than Mercedes-Benz ones, looks good, friendly and familiar, so If I only get a good offer from them when their contract expire I will not hesitate to renew it.
Now, since my squad is 30-riders large I had to do some tidiness. I reviewed all my riders one by one (especially youngsters) and decided to get rid of:
Fivet and Sterbal were also on the list, but I decided to give them a chance and see how they develop during the season. However, they might be gone in July too, when I'll need space for new riders.
Now, on the brighter side some of my most talented youngsters' progress (as promised to Mico).
And the undisputed champion - Juan Jacob Nunez.
Most of my sponsor's objectives (especially important ones) falls on first half of the season, so I decided to make my 1st group stronger.
Group 1
Leader: Anton (HIL 80, MO 83), Pozzovivo (HIL 75, MO 80)
Sprinter: Nunez (FL 75, SP 85, ACC 83)
Lead out: Demare (FL 77, SP 80, ACC 81)
TT: Malori (FL 76, TT 82), Castroviejo (FL 74, TT 80), Rasmussen (FL 78, TT 78)
Team mates: Barla, Bodnar, Fievet, Monslave, Olszewski, Wieczorek
Group 2
Leader: Kennaugh (HIL 76, MO 82)
Sprinter: Ciolek (FL 77, SP 81, ACC 81)
Lead out: Krivenco (FL 71, SP 80, ACC 78)
TT: King (FL 77, TT 80), Kwiatkowski (FL 74, TT 78)
Team mates: Ansell, Barton, Giner, McArther, Pawilowski, Rozada, Sterbal, Sorensen, Votava.
Also got a new trainer for puncheurs and time-trialists.

Haha thanks Wroblitz. I'm also having some problems in my game. Can't ride some races. Started with some Vuelta stages, but now I can't even start Milan-San Remo. Thinking of a new game with a new database. Perhaps even starting a story. |

That would be great and I can guarantee that you will have at least one follower.
I have to say I did pretty bad in my first tour of this season and what's even worst it was one of my sponsor's main goal. They were looking for 1st place in GC and I burned my chances to achive it already at stage 2. Anton was among race favourites but I overlooked attack of such riders like Boom, Gasparotto and Sanchez. It was already too late when I realized that and attacked with Anton and Pozzovivo. They came in with 4 min loss! (Pozzovivo 13th - 3:59 and Anton 15th - 4:22). Both managed to reduce it by 1:30 on second hilly stage but remained outside top 10. And if that wasn't enough I lost KoM jersey on last stage while having nearly 30 points lead.
However I did much better on flat stages losing just 1 of them, among riders like Cavendish, Kittel, Kern, Swift and Greipel.
Double win by Nunez and Demare - always Coca-Cola.
Nunez fighting for points in beautiful scenery.
Santos Tour Down Under (WT)
Overall: 13th Pozzovivo, 15th Anton
Points: 1st Nunez, 3rd Castroviejo
Mountain: 2nd Castroviejo
Young: N/A
Team: 3rd

Nice sprinting with Nunez and Demare.
How do you upload your pictures wroblitz? I'm going to use your training schedules in my own career if you don't mind. Never played continental so this story will be my guideline. |
