Secondly, the Holocaust is not just a simple political event. It was one of the worst tragedies in human history and its eyewitnesses are rapidly disappearing. Remembering what happened at Auschwitz and honoring its survivors is an important thing to do, and I am glad that the organizers of the Tour de Pologne are doing something for that.
How much do you know about Ruanda genocide? This is not some 40's this was 1994..and they killed million (can you believe it).
If you like 40's then ..why tour of Pologne does not make a stage to honor 275 000 Polack who was departed to the siberia. You dont know bout it and you dont care about it.
same time I am filled with jewish suffering PR.
Yes there are plenty of examples of mass murder, genocide and the like, but the holocaust sticks out for a couple of reasons, firstly because it is the only one which occurred in a supposedly, advanced, western nation, which shocks people, also, western media has built it up alot and, as such, lots of people know about it.
As far as the tour of Poland goes, they will struggle to commemorate the Rwandan genocide in a meaningful way given the distances involved, however I am sure that should Rwanda get a large cycling event they would also use it to remember their dead.

The latest Procycling magazine has an interesting article about Rwanda, and the recently established Tour of Rwanda there
