I'm not expecting this to be decisive, as the Arcalis just doesn't look steep enough. The length should be telling, though, and will at least sort out the guys who will seriously contend for a top 6-7.
It will be interesting to see what Barguil does from here, as his legs clearly aren't quite there.
So I feel I called that pretty well.
Really good stage all up, given that I tend to find the fight for the minor places much more interesting and unpredictable than the fight to win overall.
Maybe that's why he felt the need to go rampaging down the descent on stage 8.
On Contador: "I was quite surprised to hear that Alberto Contador was in his car. It's a shame he's no longer in the race. It would have made the Tour even more exciting that it already is. The change for me is that we won't have to chase his attacks 100km before the finish. It's something less to worry about but it's a pity."
What else could he otherwise say to the question? That all the others have no chance?
This year his training plan differently from the other years. This year he is on his best later in the race and he is already ahead after the part where he is weakest. It was so this the tour. They have no chance against that man. They dare not even try.

It was said somewhere before in a different context, but in such situations this forum does need a 'give sympathetic hug' button.
