I must admit that a norwegian win today wasn't really fair. With one of the strongest teams in the race, they did nothing; absolutely nothing until the final, and then they have all their riders fresh in the peloton in the end + Bystrøm of course. Great with a victory and two medals, but it should have come in another way. Still, it is tactical racing and you can unfortunately be able to win that way, when Australia kills themselves in front all day, like GB in the London olympics.
2. Bjarne Riis is the best directeur sportif and the greatest cycling mind in the sport today. One cannot say that he hasn't contributed the last few years, even if you are from Norway. Bjarne is a legend, even if he doped in the past.

Under what reasoning?
It's clear that he's doped his riders at some point
It is clear that he knew/know that his riders dope(d), and did nothing to prevent it. And that is of course a bad thing for the cycling sport. But it don't mean that he hasn't got a great tactical brain.

and Michael Rasmussen is the most trustworthy source ever. also the article you linked goes against what your think
"Except for a meeting we had shortly after I joined the team, I never had a conversation with him [Riis] about doping. He didn't encourage me to use doping. Implicitly, I was expected to take care of it myself," Rasmussen writes in his book.
that sentence would mean that he's wasn't involved in the systematic doping at but only aware, contradicting what you think . (note that I didn't read anything of the article except that only sentenced I posted in my quote)

Anyway gz to the Byström and Skjerpning, and Ewan. Too bad the Danes couldn't do more, well you win some, you lose some.
Why do you dislike Norway?
Let's play Jeopardy:
What is history.
The last 8 years more or less Norway has had pretty much success in international cycling (on the elite level). Most due to Hushovd the biggest wheelsucker in the entire world. Who doesn't remember WC in 2010?
No one has seen Hushovd for the entire race, and then in the end he wins the bunch sprint in front of Matti. I hate Hushovd and hate his racing style. Just no.
And I hate the danish 'experts' always talking about how good Hushovd, Hagen, Kristoff is. "If we could just do like them", go to hell with all your Norwegian crap.
Norweigan sport is all about being defensive, and snap the win at the very end. Want more examples?
Norway's national football team, people speak of the Chelsea Bus, but honestly it was the norwegians who invented this tactic, and they still use it...A more boring team doesnt exist, it's like they dont even want to score.
Want more? Petter Northaug. Cross-country skiing. Have you ever seen someone beside Hushovd, who suck more ski (instead of wheel) ? He waits until the last 50 m, then use his sprint to get the win.
And I could go on and on and on and on.
Well then there is a rivalry between Denmark and Norway. Has always been, and will always be. There is this inside competition between Denmark, Sweden and Norway. And for my sake you can add Germany to the mix too (love to beat the germans too!). I really hope those nations (except Denmark ofc) lose, while Denmark does good).
First off all, our National football team is a disgrace, but what's wrong with counter attacking football? And on Hushovd. He was a sprinter and sprinters are not meant to attack. Have you ever seen Cavendish, Cippolini og Kittel attack?. In fact, Hushovd has attacked several times in his career (If you don't remember any of then you clearly haven't watched enough cycling). And if you critice a SPRINTER for winning a hard world championship, then I really have to laugh of you. You're right about Petter Northug though, he's an arrogant cock. In spite of that most people like him, just in the same way as many like Zlatan.
And i agree with your Danish commentators. You should be more like ous. Danmark was and should be better then what they are today. All you guys have is Fuglsang(Don't get me wrong he's good, but nothing to write home about.) Also Denmark has an awful history of doping. Riis, Andersen, Rasmussen etc. The worst part is Saxo Bank(Tinkoff Saxo) where you danes worship that cheating bastard Riis. I know we got Kjaergaard here in Norway, but he's been banned from all cycling activities and he's been publically humiliated. That's what you danes should do. Get rid of the dopers, not worship and let them influence Dansih and international cycling.
First things first. You think your own national team is a disgrace, but you still want them to do the same thing they do, do I have permission to call you a faggot?
I wouldn't put Hushovd in the category: Sprinter. He is more of a classic rider and have been that for quite a few years. Why did he win the green jersey? Because he was the best sprinter? Nope, he won cuz he gathered the most points (a bit like Sagan did). I can't be the only one remembering Hushovd going into breakaways to get points to the jersey. And yes I wouldnt mind seeing Hushovd take more chances in the classics, instead of relying on his sprint. Don't ever compare Hushovd to a 'full blood sprinter' like Kittel, Cavendish, because he hasn't been like that for a quite a while. I critize Hushovd, because he is a pussy, wheelsucking until the end.
The second part you wrote, seriously all I can do is laugh of your stupidity. Have you heard of forgiveness? Yes Andersen, Riis, Holm, Rasmussen all did some fucked up stuff, at least they confessed. We forgave them. Riis, Andersen, Holm and so on has done a lot for the sport since. I'm not saying it was okay, but it was part of the culture, and if you want to argue that way, you could say that about all nations. And now when you spit on us like that, let me ask you this:
Do you honestly think Hushovd has been clean his entire career?
The chances of Hushovd being clean his entire career is the same as Admir being your father. So stop throwing stones on everyone else, when you worship Thor Hushovd like a God among cyclists.
Everyone was on dope, just not Thor. He still kicked their ass. #Legend
Wow, some of the stupid shit you wrote here is not worth an answer. I can answer you on some things though. The reason I "spit" on Denmark is because you wrote shit about my country and i felt obligated to counter. And the fact you say Riis has done a lot for the sport confuses me. I personally can't understand what Riis has contributed for the sport other then contributed with even more doping. I'm done arguing with you.
Just answer this question: Do you believe Hushovd has been clean his entire career?
I will take no answer as a no.

Yes i do believe so. I do belive that several riders from his generation was clean aswell. I think it's wrong to conclude that everyone doped before, just because it was a lot of doping. Of course I'm biased when it comes to Hushovd, but the fact is he's never been linked to doping and has been an active spokesman againtst it. I agree that it's positive to be suspesious and critical to riders when it comes to doping, but i think it should be signs and evidence to justify the suspesion. And as far as i know Hushovd hasn't any proof against him. Well, that's my meaning.
Maybe you will reconsider your statements after you have read the article. I know Danish is a pretty crazy language, but hopefully you will get the most essentiel parts.

I understand perfectly, like most danes perfectly understands Norwegian. I also agree that stating "we have the cleanest race ever" is a stupid statement, but could you find an example of anyone stating this other than a qoute in a subjectivily written danish article ? However this don't change any of my statements, if something I was a bit harsh on danes, but that was in the spirit of our argumentation.
Edit:
The fact you come with an danish article which only icludes hatred againts norwegians and their mentality and use this as proof and argument is simply wrong. It's like I should come with an Russian article which explains why Ukraine sucks and use it to convince others. It's subjectively and narrow-minded. I could post a norwegian article about Bjarne Riis and Kim Andersen, but I won't because it's subjectively.

Cycling is just a sport. There is no reason to almost kill each other in a forum, because of that.
Omloop...trust me, almost everyone is doping. I even think that Voigt is doping, i think that Kittel, Martin, Degenkolb and other do or did so.
Reason? Because when i was in our local cycling club i quit because of the doping that was going on(i was 15 at this moment). And when 80% of riders in local races dope, i doubt, that a single rider in the world tour is clean.
Jacob...even if there is a rivalry between Norway and Denmark, is that not a plausible reason to hate everything Norway has or does. You should be more tolerant. If there is a pointless rivalry between your countries, isn't it up to you(danish and norwegian people) to end this, or to make it atleast a more "friendly" rivalry. Do you think I hate french people, just because i am german?
But you hate norwegian people, just because you are danish.
Just calm down, ok?
Edited by Paul23 on 27-09-2014 01:04
I dont even think there really is a Norwegian-Danish rivalry. There is just some stuck up people. And this negative "everyone is doped" mentality that it seems "everyone" here have isnt that normal here. We actually can be positive and think that people are clean until its proved that they arent.
And we dont want the national team to play like that, and we have shit players. Nobody really care about the national team anymore.
Sport freak. Mostly interested in Football (Liverpool, Rosenborg with more), increasing interest in cycling.
Also big Formula 1 fan. Ferrari <3
I am starting to think Brailsford knows nothing about cycling as Steve De Jongh says.
When Bystrom won the race Davey sent a text message to Arvesen saying to sign him. Everyone already knows for years who Bystrom is. And of course he had already signed with someone else.
oh my, the canadian being carried into the ambulance, appearently broke her neck back in july really unlucky for her
