@All: Glad to know Joseph has some supportive followers.
Excited to say that we are starting to close in on the end of Chapter 1. More action, suspense, and surprises to go along with that.

Any ideas on how many chapters you currently have planned or are you just letting it run its course?

@547984: There are quite a few good Mexicans who should be making a name for themselves as the story progresses.
@jseadog1: Good question. As of now we have a fairly detailed outline (with room to adapt if need be) through Chapter 8. Also now seems like a good time to say that each chapter represents one year. The exception being the Preface and Chapter 1 take place in 2034. This means the # of pages per chapter will vary throughout story.
@All: Sorry for the delay, should get things moving again very soon.

The most famous lane in cycling (...)
It all came down to this,
ten laps on the most famous lane of France.
My dad raced here before me.
Twenty years later, it was my turn.
No Maillot Jaune for me, but a moment
of glory nonetheless. This was for France!
In the lead up to the Champs-Elysée,
there was an important attack. I followed!
As leader in the competition, I received
a real old yellow Tour de France bike
to race the final sprint challenge in.
It was an honor to ride into
Paris on this bike!
One lap from the finish, I attacked out of the front group!
I stood my ground and kept the lead!
What a fantastic way to finish this competition,
with yet another victory! On the
Champs-Elysée.
I hoped my dad was proud of me.
After the celebrations, though, I woke up the next morning,
thinking about what was next. I had competed on a very high level
throughout the entire race, but it didn't earn enough money to even
cover what I had spend the last month. Was there a future in cycling?

"Thank you for joining us today. Glad everyone could make it." (...)
"Today marks a new era, a new generation of professional cycling.
17 years removed from the old UCI that folded due to the war,
we are happy to announce a new cycling organization."
The room of journalists erupted when a curtain dropped
revealing the new organization name and logo.
International Cycling Union
"While all the minor details are still getting finalized at the moment
we can mention that a two division system will be implemented:
16 Pro Tour teams and 18 Continental teams."
Sponsors for the registered teams started flashing across the screen.
Noise of computer clicks and camera flashes filled the room.
Once the buzz subsided, Tim Wellens spoke again.
"We are extremely pleased to have these 34 teams onboard.
However, we are more excited to announce the return of all 3 Grand Tours,
all 5 of the monuments, and to top it all off a revolutionary promotion system."
A rather complex looking diagram popped up on the screen.
After a few moments of explanation the journalists seemed pleased.
The press conference was almost over, just one thing was left to be touch on.
"What's next? Well, the ICU will be hosting 10 scouting races around the world from now to the end November with the goal of this events to help teams evaluate cyclists for a cycling draft that will be held December 10, 2034.
At this time we will not answer any questions and further details will be brought to the public when they are completely finalized, thank you for your time."

A nice mix of teams from the glourious past and new teams with beautiful jerseys!
But how on earth could Tim Wellens become ICU president?
A Big Thank You To All MG Reporters!
