No, Bikex. It wasn't meant as criticsm at all, just stating some thoughts on the route. You know, the more MTFs the better for me. If it'd be up to me, there'd be only Mountaintop finishes for my guys.

TDF:
V12 - Emmea
Starts with a hilly stage, the only one of the whole GT, though. Has a 32 km TTT, and roughly 80 ITT kms.
9 mountain stages, 5 summit. Unfortunately, it's in blocks of 2, which means: Stage 8-12 and 15-18 are mountainous.
V14 - Nathounet87
Starts with a 18km(and therefore unimportant for GC) TTT. 6 mountain stages(4 summit), 2 hilly stages. 70km ITT(33km of it is a hilly TT). Pretty cool variant. No cobbles though, but you could always replace 1 flat stage with a cobbled stage, if necessary.
V7 - Roturn (2008!)
The 2008 route, which is quite decent, though TT-heavy. 6,5 mountain stages with 3,5 summit finishes(1 hilly stage which is basically mountainous). 3,5 hilly stages.
Roughly 80km ITT, which would make this a TTheavy Tour de France, but not yet 2012-ridiculous. Including a cobbled stage instead of one of the flat stages would be neat.
V8 - Cyanide(2010)
The 2010 route, and a pretty cool one. 6 mountain stages, and 4 hilly stages. A summit finish to the Tourmalet is included. Starts with a prologue in the most beautiful country of the world, and stage 20 is a 50km ITT. No other ITTs than that. Has a cobbled stage to Arenberg, which is pretty cool and not cobbles-overpowered.
My preference:
1. V8
2. V14
3. V7
4. V12
I chose for variants that have enough TT kilometers, but not OP. Because the Giro hasn't got lots of TT kilometers and the Vuelta will most likely be TT-slim as well. I'll put up Vuelta suggestions tomorrow(if that's in-time), I guess.

I'd go for V8 as well.
Links or so would have been nice, but your description is still pretty good, so that will do.

2010 route would be my choice. With that stage in the Ardennes where everyone disappeared in to the forest in the wet.

This is a nice Vuelta, although it's around 100 km TT. |

I think there should only be two TTs not three.

Argh, was writing a giant Vuelta post, but then my browser suddenly crashed.
@Mvh I think it's too TT-heavy. It's a Vuelta, it should be mainly ___/
So, my suggestions, in short(no motivation for more now)
V20 - Willixcii
TTT, 5 hilly stages, 8 mountain stages -> 6 summit. 40km flat ITT. Lots of ___/ and even(!!!) __/\_/.
V7 - Nathounet
26km flat ITT as start. 30 km flat ITT and 28km MTT as well. 5 mountain stages, 4 summit. 5 hilly stages. Nice variant.
V5 - 2011 Vuelta
Just liking the profile. Lots of hilly stages, mainly in the last week. 42km ITT. 6 mountain stages, whom 5 summit finishes.
Also, Grebiere's V9 variant is far too TT heavy, but the cobbled stage is just EPIC. Having a cobbled sector of 2.2 kms in the last kilometres, slightly uphill.

@mvhoogdalem
It kinda hits what we ment with mountain focused, but I think we agreed that there should not be that much time trials and three ones is a bit to much imo.

@Jesleyh
I like the sound of V20 for Vuelta purely because of the many mountain stages especially the summit finishstages. And there arent too many TT kilometres.

I would agree that there should be a decent number of stages with _/\___/\_/ profile or so. And some hilly ones at well. Alwas flat-summit is kinda boring I think and it doesn't make things interesting, while hilly ones and ones with some more mountains on the road usually make things more unpredictable.

Damn that route is absolutely brutal and a TTT on cobbles, wasn't expected that! |

Yes, absolutely brutal!
And "only" 5 stages for sprinters
But well, I'm gonna accept that
Spoiler Because my TdF team is not good at sprinting, but rather good at cobbles.

Fantastic Tour (and yes, I'm annoyed by the CBS TTT due to my squad's weakness but great stuff nonetheless!)
Please not so many TT kilometers at Vuelta though.

Mmm... Interesting choice I guess.
Noticed this variant, but feared a cobbled TTT would make the AI go crazy.
Also dislike the lack of hilly stages a bit. Iirc, the Giro doesn't have much hilly stages to make up for it either.
Amount of TTs is fine, though.

For my team personally, I don't really like the Tour route but it's quite good overall and I think should please most people (although as Jesleyh said I've noticed the lack of hills, a concern for my hill-orientated team)
Hopefully the Vuelta will have lots of nice hilly stages in it, hint hint
Oh and Bikex don't take the criticism to heart, whatever you do we'd probably find some extremely minor detail to nitpick - we don't mean to undermine the fact you're doing an amazing job running this thing in a very organised fashion
