Spoiler
i1346.photobucket.com/albums/p690/TheRider11/PCM0598_zpsc67d4aab.jpg

i1346.photobucket.com/albums/p690/TheRider11/11_zps4c7bda72.jpg

The early pace was fierce. Multiple riders attacked trying to get into the break, knowing there was a good chance that if a break was strong enough it would get all the way to the line. 30 Kilometres in no break.

i1346.photobucket.com/albums/p690/TheRider11/PCM0606_zps534de364.jpg

40 kilometres in a 12 man break was established, the sprint point not contested was won by Fiorilli (BDB). The break: Sousa (TNA), A.Aldape (TCL), Ludvigsson (KLO), Golas (BSE), Eibegger and Kreder (RBL), Gabrovski (SSL), Keukeleire(BZQ), Pauwels (PDA), Fiorilli(BDB), ValacH (STM) and Delage (KAR) who was best placed in GC @22'47.

i1346.photobucket.com/albums/p690/TheRider11/PCM0602_zps9b9a906c.jpg

All 8 teammates of yellow jersey Spilak (NEL)were leading the peloton in stages before the climbs begun.

i1346.photobucket.com/albums/p690/TheRider11/110_zps7b50c7b5.jpg

i1346.photobucket.com/albums/p690/TheRider11/PCM0610_zps8e9d1986.jpg

108 Kilometres to go the break @7'140 and for the first time in the stage the terrain goes uphill severely we see an all Spanish attack from the peloton. The two riders are Mosquera(BZQ) @7'11 and Navarro(SSL) @'10'40.

The points at the first climb go to Sousa, Golas and Pauwels.

i1346.photobucket.com/albums/p690/TheRider11/PCM0612_zps4c4cc916.jpg

With 97 kilometres to go and the original break with an advantage of 8'20 over the peloton, Nokia Ekspla vanish from the front of the peloton, two teams take their place. They are Husky Energy, working for Brambilla and AerLingus working for Siutsou.

i1346.photobucket.com/albums/p690/TheRider11/58_zps9b4b4286.jpg

With 58 kilometres to go the Husky-Aerlingus lead peloton reaches the brutal col du Colombier. 17 kilometres with an average of well over 7%. The original break has an advantage of 5:20 and Navarro/Mosquera have an advantage of 4:10 and will quickly join the original break when...........a big name attacks, just 2 kilometres into the climb!

i1346.photobucket.com/albums/p690/TheRider11/PCM0614_zpseb42a0af.jpg

GADRET!
Gadret (TNA) goes on another massive attack and drags Dyachenko (SCD) with him, they don't pull out a massive advantage though, but continue setting a hard pace up the climb.

With 12 kilometres to go on the colombier as Gadret/Dyachenko catch stragglers from the original break, three riders attack......

i1346.photobucket.com/albums/p690/TheRider11/PCM0617_zpsb9f58021.jpg

The riders are: Ignatenko(AFL), Rujano(PVE) and Caruso (QMS), they bridge across to Gadret with about 10 kilometres to go on the climb when....

i1346.photobucket.com/albums/p690/TheRider11/PCM0618_zps5c023fb4.jpg

Rujano increases the pace with 8 kilometres to go on the climb. It appears only Gadret can follow. With the peloton now lead by Nokia setting a decent pace they never gain an advantage of more than 2 minutes on the climb, the two are around 1 minute behind the original break at the top of the colombier.

i1346.photobucket.com/albums/p690/TheRider11/jsadij_zpse84e3c6b.jpg

At the top of the Colombier with 40 kilometres to go Pauwels (PDA) is the first to summit, that is one for the memory. He will move into the KOM jersey with 21 points. They have 1 minute over Gadret/Rujano and around 2:40 over the peloton.

i1346.photobucket.com/albums/p690/TheRider11/PCM0622_zps244caccc.jpg

On the descent of the Colombier, stage 10 winner Plaza(TNA) attacks. Sousa(TNA) having helped Gadret progress up the road, gave everything to extend Plaza's minimal advantage over the peloton. But he was caught at the start of the 8 kilometre 5% col de Richmont.

i1346.photobucket.com/albums/p690/TheRider11/PCM0623_zps1363de22.jpg

A nine man break are still ahead by 1:30 when the peloton reach the col de Richmont. Attacks immediately start. Kashechkin (QMS) and Del Nero (IKO) put in big multiple attacks but are reeled back by Nokia Ekspla, in particular by Ellisonde.

Then Brambilla(HEY) attacks.........Spilak has to go with this one......

i1346.photobucket.com/albums/p690/TheRider11/PCM0628_zpsea0d5d3a.jpg

he does. Showing his strength Spillak comes to the front of the peloton towards the top of the climb, the original break have 40 seconds advantage.

i1346.photobucket.com/albums/p690/TheRider11/PCM0629_zpse6d87682.jpg

Onto the descent and outfront Gadret attacks, with 14 kilometres downhill to the slight uphill finish, could the break hold on.....

i1346.photobucket.com/albums/p690/TheRider11/PCM0631_zpscf8acf3e.jpg

No they can't. With 10 kilometres to go the peloton heading towards Bellegarde sur valserine and we have a 63 man group at the head of the race.

i1346.photobucket.com/albums/p690/TheRider11/PCM0632_zps0f208a5a.jpg

Into the final. Spilak leads the race will he get a road win today?....Into the final kilometre.....

i1346.photobucket.com/albums/p690/TheRider11/PCM0634_zps16b863cf.jpg

KARPETS! Karpets(AFL) has the lead on the far right with Spilak fading but can he hold on for victory with Castroviejo(QMS) looking good.......

i1346.photobucket.com/albums/p690/TheRider11/PCM0637_zps104f23ca.jpg

YES HE CAN. Karpets wins from Castroviejo by a wheel with Rujano doing well to survive for third place.

i1346.photobucket.com/albums/p690/TheRider11/PCM0638_zps7d3ca4e6.jpg

Spilak keeps yellow, and increases his lead?! Somehow white jersey Meyer(KAR) managed to lose 4 minutes, surely GC ambitions are now over for him.

i1346.photobucket.com/albums/p690/TheRider11/PCM0640_zps95b9a3cc.jpg

Meyer also losses the white jersey to Boswell. The team classification is still lead by Telecom Namibia.

True he has been very quite though. Maybe keeping his powder dry for a big attack on stage 12?Wink

Also does Siutsou have magic powers or something? It seems everyday he moves up exactlyone place, even on stage 11, Meyer somehow managed to miss out on the lead group so now Siutsou is in second spot. Not a good omen for Spilak! Pfft

Quilmes are dominating the Ultra atm, but remeber the final classifications dish out big points and Quilmes aren't at the top in any, so it is all to play for.
Btw stage 12 a killer of a stage, a big group surely can't get to the finish?!!!

Mindfuck... Pulso Verde can actually do something?! Impossible!

That elusive damn win... My team rode great once again, but just can't grab that first win. Castroviejo with an amazing ride, my GC hopes will well alive with Andrey.

Chillpill Chillpill Chillpill Pfft

That makes it two podiums for PulsoVerde with Chavanel in with sprints and multiple climbers getting into breaks, stage wins are surely looming?

@Kentaurus --- It amost defeats logic that you haven't won a stage yet! Pfft
