Greipel actually didn`t even want to sprint after his crash. Obviously he at least wanted to try but surely wasn`t at 100% today.
I wonder to what extent that was forced. "So, lots of your competitiors are behind, you only really need to beat Goss and Sagan. Have a go"
I think he is still in the fight for the green jersey and with so many sprinters behind it was a good opportunity to get more points in a less difficult sprint.
There is no green jersey fight. Sagan has the jersey, so long as he finishes the race.
Sad but true for Gossy. As long as Goss wins once it's all good.

Txurruka and Verdugo seem to be injured and are in doubt to start tomorrow, according to Samuel Sanchez. |

Okay, well that was a pure sprint, nothing tricky, nothing fancy, and he is faster than Goss and Greipel. I think its time to start giving him 81ish sprint, 83ish accel.
Ignoring every other sprint were he failed to podium.
He's won 3 stages...don't know which tour you're watching...certainly no one is even close on the uphill stuff (hell he actually put a gap on one of his sprints). Of the 3 other stages he came in 6th, 5th and got caught in a crash. That's not a bad list.
And hence he has a great hill stat.

But in todays sprint he didn't have to face Cavendish, a Vacansoleil rider lost his chain at the last moment, other sprinters had been held up and Greipel was injured and wasn't 100%. |

Losing 2-3 minutes isn't enough of a gap to discount the riders who lost time today. They'll just have to attack from further out now.
Its not great considering most of those caught behind will lose more than that in the TTs to Wiggins.

Great result for Greipel considering the injuries he picked up during the stage today |

Exactly. In the flat stages he got 6th and 5th, meaning an 81 SP is too high. Stick with 78-9. Espeecially is Goss stays at 78.

Well yeah, but that's kind of my point. Most of them already needed to go big or just not bother at all and accept lesser placings. They need to go even bigger now to beat Wiggins/Evans/Menchov etc. |

Obviously you don't, the GC teams are putting their riders at the front to protect them from crashes as was shown in 2011. If you look, its not the GC teams fault for causing the crashes because they are not happening right at the front of the peloton where BMC and Sky are sitting, they are happening in the middle of the bunch from riders who probably lose concentration for a split second or by other riders moving dangerously to try and get to the front. Sky and BMC have a good tactic as they are keeping out of trouble, its not them its the other teams and riders who have caused the crashes (and Farrar being dumb yesterday). So use your brain before posting stupid comments.
Try reading my post next time.
They weren't involved in just this particular crash. I'm talking about the panicky and insecure way the peloton has been riding this week in fear of a mass crash. I blame the GC teams for that, because they are pushing to ride in the front at all times. There's not enough space for that on the road, and therefore they cause more crashes.
This particular crash wasn't directly in the front of the peloton. It's so obvious that the peloton has been riding extremely anxious and insecure all week. This insecurity is caused by the behaviour of the GC teams.
In short: GC riders wannabe at front -> more crashes -> peloton feels insecure -> even more crashes.
Finally, if you keep calling me stupid for having a different opinion than your own, then I guess you don't have the basic 8th grade intelligence to understand the concept of a discussion forum. In your behaviour, you seem to be unwilling or unable to understand that calling people like that is offensive. Or, you simply just don't care.
Either way, fuck off you prick.
Lol, someone seems to be very angry and I have to admit, its very mature of you with that last sentence I have no idea how old you have to be in 8th grade but I have 10 GCSE's and 4 A-Levels (people who know the English education system will understand), so I seem to have quite a good intelligence, its just people who decide to spout off rubbish and blame people who were not at fault who are stupid and act without thinking like you did in calling out both BMC and Sky. |

What the fuck, crashes!
Pretty much everyone I wanted to do well in the GC here was in that crash.
Garmin are having the fail. Danielson out, Van Summeren out I think, Farrar and Hunter mortally wounded for these 3 weeks. Hesjedal lost too much time.
The crashes today will have ruined the Tours excitement for me.
What a ride by Sagan though.

I'm happy to go on vacation tomorrow, knowing that I don't have to watch the Tour from now on.
Year after year I have high hopes for this race, and year after year my hopes end in crashes.
