Here is an interview held with CEO Mr. Clark today:
Q1: Which rider are you guys protecting to win the GT's this year?
Well, we want to keep everything fair for our leaders this year, so we are going to split each one up. The Giro is going to go to Levi Leipheimer, The Tour is going to go to Chris Horner, and Vuelta a Espana is going to Lance or Tom Danielson, depending on what is going on at the time. We hope to at least place into the podium this year however
Q2: How come your not giving Lance a shot at the Tour?
He made it clear already that this season is not about him. He does not want to steal the spotlight, he is here to make the team better. Of course he isn't going to sit back and let everyone do all of the work, and ultimately gain all of the success? That's not him. When he sees an opening, he is going to take it. He is a professional, and thats why he is here.
Q3: What about other riders in GT's?
This will boil down to success. Whoever is doing the best for the first half of the year, that is who will be riding in the Giro, after that we will focus on the Tour, then Vuelta.
Q4: What is your ultimate #1 goal for this year?
It's our first year, so definitely not winning a GT. We are strongly aiming for the sweep. Winning the Amgen Tour of California, Pro Cycling Challenge, Tour of Utah, Tour of Elk Grove, and the Tour of Pennsylvania all in the same year. That is all of the American races currently on our schedule. We will do whatever we can to place highly in these races. We also won't forget about our Canadian riders, who will aim to take home the one day classics this year! We can't wait to start riding.
Q5: The suspension has been building for months, how ready are your riders to start the season.
They have been focused mentally & physically for months, and they are starting to get over anxious. That first race can't come soon enough for these guys, and we are going to have to really sit down and think about who we are going to send out there for the Tour Down Under to kick off our season.
Q6: If you were to win a GT this year, which one would you hope it is?
Listen, anytime you win a GT, you are extremely satisfied with the outcome. But to answer you question, it is obviously the Tour! That is the biggest race of the year for everyone to bring in their best and show off what they have, and we want to prove that the United States is bringing cycling back to the way it should be!

I would bring qLevi to the Tou instead becuas of the TT's
Of course, then Danielson would take the Giro because Horner has to defend his TOC title. And Lance as a helper in the TDF.
But that's just my opinion.

I would have Danielson do the Giro while Horner does Cali, then have Levi and Horner co-lead at the Tour, then Levi could look to win the Tour of Utah and the Pro Challange while Lance leads the team in the Vuelta. But your way seems good anyway |

Like I said, we will see how the season is going when we get there, since its the last GT of the year anyhow.
